Hi there
i am unable to dial a certain number, it says "Change by SIM" and then automatically redirects to me Messages?!
i tried to delete the number completely from my SIM or phone memory and jus dial normally, but everytime that comes up, i can't even call that number.

i must've pressed something accidently?

Firmware is the Operating system for your phone.
Firmware can be replaced by newer (better) firmware, this is called 'flashing'.

Because it's just one number, i don't think your firmware is the problem. you could try to reset your phone to factory settings...,this should be done somewhere in your phone settings.
Be aware, that this resets all your settings, but maybe it solves your problem.
Do you get the error message after starting dialing, or doesn't it start dialing anyway?

    I can't give you a direct solution.

What happens if you exchange your sim card with the one from another phone?
Can you call the number from that phone and your sim card?
Can you call the number from your phone and the other sim card?

if both combinations work. Your sim card and phone seem to be incompatible in some way...
If one of them doesn't work, then you know where the problem lies; your phone or your sim card

    Success!

yes do u get the same problem when you use it with a different sim card?? if so you might need to do a phones OS update, (or master reset). if you visit your nearest local mobile repair/unlock shop, they will be able to reinstall the operating system of your phone

What does Fixed Dialling Numbers mean?

Fixed Dialing Numbers or FDN list is a SIM card based security feature which allows the phone to be "locked" so that it can only dial certain numbers, or numbers with certain prefixes.

A PIN2 code (numeric password) protects the allowed list of numbers from being changed by any person who does not know the PIN2 code.

In FDN mode, your device will restrict outgoing calls, except for the numbers stored in the FDN list.

To activate FDN mode,
1.) In idle mode, open the application list and select Settings ? Call settings ? Fixed Dialling Numbers ? Enable FDN.

2.) Enter the PIN2 supplied with your SIM or USIM card and select OK.

3.) Select FDN list and add contacts to be used in FDN mode.

To De-activate

1.) In idle mode, open the application list and select Settings ? Call settings ? Fixed Dialling Numbers ? Disable FDN.

2.) Enter the PIN2 supplied with your SIM or USIM card and select OK.

Warning: PIN2 is a serious SIM-based security feature of the handset. If you are not sure of your PIN2, please do not enter random PIN2. When you access a menu requiring the PIN2, you must enter the PIN2 supplied with the SIM or USIM card. Contact your service provider/ Network for your PIN2. If the wrong PIN2 code is entered three times in a row, PIN Lock(PUK2) will be automatically activated.

Xperia x8 handset i hv n m unable to send text messages need quick solution for this hectic problem

Hi,

Please, use another Sim with the phone, if the Sim can send messages, definitely sounds like an error in the SMS centre number. You can change this by following the below steps:

1. Open your dialer and dial: *#*#4636#*#*.
2. From the menus which appear, select Phone Information.
3. Scroll down to SMSC.
4. Enter the SMS center number given by your provider in this box.
5. Select Update.

This will then change the number and hopefully resolve the issues you are experiencing or you can also contact your service provider and the problem will be resolve for free.

Regards

Why Nokia N73 Cellular Phone Unable send message?

Hi, issues like this are related to your Sim card (network),
not your Cell Phone . In most cases, regarding the text messages,
the problem is from the Service Operator. Have you tried the Sim card on another phone? If not,
remove the Sim card, insert it on another phone and try sending a message from another mobile to you number,
or you can do it in vise- versa by inserting another Sim card on your mobile.

If you can't receive text messages even when it's inserted on another handset,
then you will need to call the customer care of your Network Operator and tell
them your problem, they will help you fix it immediately.

You can check the message center number, but I don't think
it's very much important in your case, well, if you wanna try,
just check the text message settings and verify that the message
center number (which is currently in use) is the same number which
is on another phone with the same network (the other Sim should be
of the same network in your area). If it's different, make the changes
and save the settings. Also disable the "Receive Via" or similar settings..
(I can't recollect the exact settings as i don't have the same model with
me, please excuse me for this.).

If the same Sim card doesn't receive text messages using another handset,
don't bother to change the settings or to make any changes with it,
first call the customer care and verify from them, you may make mistakes instead of fixing it.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for using fixya.......

Hi there... I am unable to send messages from my samsung monte...tot it was due to sim prob bt when used in otr cel msgs r sent..bt when inserted in samsung monte den hvin an error" unable to send message...

First insert the sim on another mobile and check the Message center number from the Message settings (text message settings), note down the number, now insert the sim onto your handset and go into the message settings then text message and replace the message center number with the one you've noted down, save the changes made and restart your phone, it should work now.

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.
