Re: still need help on this!
Firmware is the Operating system for your phone. Firmware can be replaced by newer (better) firmware, this is called 'flashing'.
Because it's just one number, i don't think your firmware is the problem. you could try to reset your phone to factory settings...,this should be done somewhere in your phone settings. Be aware, that this resets all your settings, but maybe it solves your problem. Do you get the error message after starting dialing, or doesn't it start dialing anyway?
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

Seems like you have a problem in your text message service center number. Either by knowingly or unknowingly, you have edited the service center number for text messages for that particular sim.
The best way is to find a friend who uses the same network and look at his service center number and type that number exactly in your device's service center number field. That way, it'll be fixed
Dialing Numbers or FDN list is a SIM card based security feature which
allows the phone to be "locked" so that it can only dial certain
numbers, or numbers with certain prefixes.
A PIN2 code
(numeric password) protects the allowed list of numbers from being
changed by any person who does not know the PIN2 code.
FDN mode, your device will restrict outgoing calls, except for the
numbers stored in the FDN list.
To activate FDN
1.) In idle mode, open the application list and select
Settings ? Call settings ? Fixed Dialling Numbers ? Enable FDN.
2.) Enter the PIN2 supplied with your SIM or USIM card and
3.) Select FDN list and add contacts to be
used in FDN mode.
1.) In idle
mode, open the application list and select Settings ? Call settings ?
Fixed Dialling Numbers ? Disable FDN.
2.) Enter the PIN2
supplied with your SIM or USIM card and select OK.
Warning: PIN2 is a serious SIM-based security feature of the
handset. If you are not sure of your PIN2, please do not enter random
PIN2. When you access a menu requiring the PIN2, you must enter the
PIN2 supplied with the SIM or USIM card. Contact your service
provider/ Network for your PIN2. If the wrong PIN2 code is entered
three times in a row, PIN Lock(PUK2) will be automatically activated.
Please, use another Sim with the phone, if the Sim can send messages, definitely sounds like an error in the SMS
centre number. You can change this by following the below steps:
1. Open your dialer and dial: *#*#4636#*#*. 2. From the menus which appear, select Phone Information. 3. Scroll down to SMSC. 4. Enter the SMS center number given by your provider in this box. 5. Select Update.
This will then change the number and hopefully resolve the issues you are experiencing or you can also contact your service provider and the problem will be resolve for free.
First insert the sim on another mobile and check the Message center number from the Message settings (text message settings), note down the number, now insert the sim onto your handset and go into the message settings then text message and replace the message center number with the one you've noted down, save the changes made and restart your phone, it should work now.
Nokia 6720 has my husbands mobile number in the Message Centre - I have tried to change it but it comes up with Unable to change setting . value read from sim card - HELP I cant send text messages but can recieve them
Voice Dial: Important: Be sure your phone supports the voice dialing function andthat it is activated. Record at least one voice tag. (Please refer tothe instructions in your phone’s user manual.) Note: Voice dialingentries must be stored in the phone’s memory, not on the SIM card! 1. Press the Accept Button (1) for 1 second. 2. A voice dial beep will be heard on the kit to prompt the user to say the voice tag of the contact to call. 3. Say the voice tag exactly as how you recorded it. 4. The voice will be played back to you, and then the phone will dial the number automatically.
go into your you phone book settings and change the setting to save on sim card and that should automatically save them there then there's another setting where you can copy all the contacts saved on the phone to the sim to save putting all your contacts on the phone again hope this helps
