Question about Televison & Video
Are the lines evenly spaced like in this photo, or random:
If so, this may be more indicative of a signal noise problem rather than component failure. Either way, I recommend:
Try changing your video source to confirm if you get the lines on cable and on dvd for example.
Try changing your cable signal to a different input plug on your tv, like a front plug.
Try changing you cable signal type; switch from hdmi to component or vice versa.
This will give you more information regarding whether the source of your lines are specific to a particular cable, or source, or input circuitry.
I understand that blowing the dust helped for a day, but since it started up again right away, this tells me that unless all that dust has accumulated again, it might have had more to do with the power being off on the TV and connections being unplugged.
Try to confirm this by just unplugging the power again for as long as you did before.
Bottom line, if the problem isn't solved by simply a 'noisy' cable or source, your TV is suffering some component failure in its power or signal processing, and will need service.
I hope that helps.
