SOURCE: Can anyone help me. I have a new band, but need to

Most likely this model disassembles one of two ways.

Let me preface this response with saying that it is best to have a professional Certified Master Horologist do this repair, as it can be difficult to keep parts intact in the process.

If you see slits in the end of the pins that hold the band on, you need to use sharp, proper size watchmaking screwdrivers on each side. It can be difficult to do this alone, without a device to hold the pin in place while in the process.

The second method is: if there is no **** for a screwdriver (it is smooth like a button), it is a pressure pin configuration. It is one complete piece on one side going all the way through the band, and the other side is held in place by a small rivet that is the same style and appearance that goes into the other side. This can be removed by holding one side in a vise device, and pulling the other with special needle nose pliers, or placing those pliers on the inside of the "button" rivet, and tapping the pliers with a mallet.

You would then replace the band and:

A) Use two screwdrivers to thread the screw back in to one side

B) Tap the button rivet back in to place with a mallet and anvil.

I hope this helps you!

How do I remove a link from the Stauer Colossus Hybrid Chronograph

Removing a link from the wrist band of the Stauer Colossus watch is a task that requires some mechanical talent. The links are held together with pins. These pins need to be pushed out. I strongly recommend the purchase of a "Watch Band Link Pin Remover" (got mine on eBay for $7). Prepared with this tool, the steps are as follows.

a) Separate the wrist band at the position where the strap and latch are held together. Careful! This pin is spring loaded.
b) The links that can be removed are marked with an arrow on the interior side. The pin should be removed in the direction indicated by the arrow.
c) With the previously mentioned tool you will be able to perform the hardest part, namely push out the pin by 3/16". In the image below note how the pushed out pin goes into the groove of the tool.
d) Use a small screwdriver or a punch with diameter of less than 0.07" (or 1.8 mm) in order to push out the pin completely (see second picture).
The push pin of the tool can be reversed which is helpful for re-assembly. I recommend smoothing the one end of the pin with a small file or sandpaper. This way the pin enters easily into the hole of the lower section. Else you run the danger of bending the link if the pin is not correctly positioned and you apply too much force.

I own the new hybrid stauer watch and i have read the manual about changing the watch band, but it doesn't seem like im doing it right. it says to use a sharp pointed tool to insert into the recessed side...

on close inspection of the bracelet you will see that the holes which the pin is located dont look the same, the other is much deeper than on the opposite side. the deeper hole is bottom side of the pin while the other is the top. push the pin from the bottom this will loosen the pin to the top.
be careful using the tools.

How is a stauer notched leather watch band removed and replaced

No, he asked about a notched band, like on the Graves. Here the watch attaches not across the full 2cm or so but at two 6-7mm lengths around either side of a center protrusion, through which the pin slides.
Each pin consists of a longer part and a shorter end cap with a smaller pin maybe 2mm long that fits into the end of the longer hollow pin. These take a fairly serious pull to take apart, but must be pulled with care, for two reasons: one, so the pieces don't fly off and get lost when the pin comes apart, and two, so you don't accidentally torque the head sideways off the small pin, which is easy to do when you're pulling hard and not being careful. Vise-grips, with maybe thin wood like popsicle stick pieces to cushion the end caps might do, so you don't damage the end pieces as you squeeze, but again be careful. (If you do twist the endcap off its tiny pin, you might be able to glue it back with superglue (cyanoacrylate), but that's a patient precision operation by itself.)
Once the pieces are detached, the long pin will slide through the simple hole in the top and bottom protrusions from the watch case. You can customize your replacement band, set the pins, and gently compress them, again with widemouth pliers and a cushioning, they will go together more easily than they came apart.
Other Stauers use regular pins you can just pop off with the end of a pen knife, but this one is trickier.
Good luck :-)

These sound like standard spring loaded pins.

To remove them I use a small screw driver and press it gently against one end of the pin, while pushing it lengthwise.

This compresses the spring and allows the pin to pop out.

(take care where you do this as it may fire out and get lost).

It may take several attempts to get pins out, as you have to experiment with the forces applied to get the right balance.

Putting the pins back in is also a skill. putting the pin into the strap, put one end into it receiving hole and press the other end as far as you can. Move the end in line with the other receiving hole and remove screw driver. It sounds easy but takes a little practice!

Good luck!

How to make a relic watch bracelet a little smaller?

No but if this is a mens watch there might be a micro adjustment on the clasp. To adjust press the pin in the clasp and move the pin in or out depending on the position of the pin to make loose or tight.

How do you get the battery out of the case of a Casio AMW320RD-2AV? The back unscews and I can see the #370 battery held by some sort of blue band, but how to release it?

Under that blue band is the metal clip (contact). Take the tweezers and pull a little that blue band off, then find out where the contact is clipped on and undo it by pulling legs apart.. Buy exactley the same battery and replace it. Do make sure you wonn't plase the new battery other way round.

Rate, please.

Watch goes slow when wearing it but keeps time when not wearing it Because I started having a problem with an old reliable Acqua quartz analog watch running slow,  I replaced it with a new Timex quartz...

There is nothing wrong with your watch. Probably it's the one measuring heart rate and pulse (heart beats per second).
Use your users manual to set the watch.
By the way: Timex is one of the worst watch producers.
