Why cant i change the tint of my picture? the menue keeps skipping the tint option

If you're watching UK TV broadcasts then we don't have a need for tint. Similarly, with HDMI sources you shouldn't need tint either because the TV's colour decoder isn't active.

Tint is a throw-back to the American analogue TV system called NTSC. Their system doesn't lock the colour phase to the sync signal. So depending how far the TV was from the transmitter the colour would be further and further out of whack. Hence the industry joke that NTSC stood for Never Twice (the) Same Colour ...N - T - S - C. The Tint control was used to re-time the colour signal. The UK didn't have this issue because our TV system (PAL - Phase Alternate Line) includes information to lock the colour signal phase.

Strictly speaking, Tint is only required with NTSC analogue composite signals. This is where the brightness information is mixed with colour on a sub-carrier frequency. So, that would be signals via an aerial lead or from the yellow video connection which is how most of us first see a composite signal. These signals are encoded as NTSC. Any signals where the colour and brightness (luma) information is kept separate shouldn't need Tint. So, S-video, Component and RGB at 60Hz all bypass a TVs NTSC decoder. If the TV is correctly designed then the Tint option should not be available. Some TV manufacturers break the convention though, for the simple reason that many old school US consumers grew up adjusting Tint, so it's too much of a culture shock to take away that feature.

To recap then, if Tint isn't available then it's because the signal doesn't need that adjustment. The colour timing is already bang on accurate.

I have a green tint on my Proxima DP5900. The menus seem to maintain the proper grey color along with have red borders around things that are supposed to be red. S-Video, VGA and all other video inputs...

it's the input board. if it was anything in the optical engine, the menu would be discolored as well. try resetting all the settings to factory default. if that doesn't work, see if there are any loose cables or loose solder joints inside. if all that is good, then you'll have to replace the board. now the bad news: proxima has no parts for that model. sorry.

Cannot navigate Picture Mode (Colour) menu.

After some digging, I may have found something.

With no menus onscreen, press the menu button. Then press it again. According to a post I saw on another forum, that allowed the user to enter the tuning menus.

First press gets you "Overview" and the second opens the tuning menus.

Good luck, and repost the results.

InFocus LP725 light goes out after 10 minutes

The Projector will turn off after so many hours of running the same bulb module. The counter will turn on a replace bulb LED. Installing the new bulb module should reset the counter and turn off the LED.

Check the projector’s lamp to ensure that it is securely connected
in the lamp module. Make sure by removing it and reinserting it.

Check the cables for problems.

When testing, power up in this order. Projector, Computer monitor, Computer.

A minor power surge may cause the lamp to shut off. Turn the
projector off, wait at least 30 seconds, then turn it back on.

I hope these suggestions help

RCA CTC203 No Colour in the Video IN or Svideo

It is possible that while programming the remote you got into the menu on your TV and adjusted the color control. Go back into the menu and find the controls for color, contrast, tint and etc. If the color bar is all the way to the left, then adjust it to go to the right until you get enough color. This is just one possible solution. Hope this corrects the problem.

Infocus LP70 - It's all Green

A tinted image (whether green or another color) is almost always a symptom of a bad or damaged cable - or a loos cable connection. In your case, you'll likely need a new M1 to VGA cable (Part# SP-DVI-A-R).

Assuming that you've made sure that the cable connections are solid at both ends, there is a simple test to verify that this is a cable issue and not a costly projector issue. While the image is tinted green, open the menu. If the menu colors appear fine while the rest of the image is still tinted green it's the cable.
