Question about Infra Sonic Portable Infrared IR700RL Grill

Open Question

Infra-Sonic grill: regulator connection to the burner tube.

I am assembling an Infra-Sonic II portable grill. The manual describes a nut welded to the burner tube for the regulator to screw into. Mine has no nut, and with the burner centered inside the grill enclosure, the burner tube does not reach (enclose) the regulator nozzle. Is this setup going to work?J. Knippa

SOURCE: I have a infra sonic protable grill model

I don't believe that retail stores carry replacement parts for these portable grills. You might be able to get them directly from the manufacturer, but you will probably have to replace the grill if the ceramic plate is broken.

SOURCE: We have an older Infra

I'm sorry to report that your grill or any later models are no longer being manufactured. Parts are almost nonexistent. There are some newer models still out there, that are being sold on the web, but when they're gone, that's it. Unfortunately, those who are selling these grills are not telling the buyers about this. I even checked my regular reliable sources for grill parts, but none were listed for Infra Sonic. There is a chance that a small metal fabrication shop could make these parts for you out of stainless steel. If that's the route you want to follow, take the old parts with you and ask for 304 Stainless Steel. It's a little pricey, but it will last forever.

Hope this helped you in some way. Please let me know. Thanks.

My charbroil masterflame 7000 is leaking gas. I beleive I need to replace the regulator and hose. Please advise on how to get the old hose off and put the new hose on. I need a diagram if possible. I would...

If you have already disconnected the hose from the tank. Track it back to where it connects to the burner(s) manifold. It should be up under the grill head. You should see a brass nut. Using an appropriately sized open end wrench, loosen this nut and the hose will disconnect from the grill.

The new Hose/Regulator Assembly will simply attach in the reverse order of how you removed the faulty one. After installing the new one and connecting the hose to the tank. Open the valve on the tank about halfway and check the connections for leaks. Thick soapy water, brushed on with a paint brush will work for detecting leaks. Look for bubbles other than those made by the soapy water. If you see one, tighten the connection a bit more. Be sure not to cross thread the nut, when installing it.

If you haven't purchase a new one yet, you can the Hose/regulator Assembly at any home center or hardware store that sell gas grills and accessories. They run about $30.00.

Hope this helped you and Happy Grilling.

Any home center or hardware store that sells grills should have it. be sure to take your old one with you, so that you can match it up to the proper Btu rating and fitting size. Please keep in mind the hose and regulator are generally all one unit.

Yes the best option for just for you is to buy a new burner, tube kit and a new manifold kit because all the things that you said you removed from the burner must have caused alot of rust on the burner and if you keep welding the burner there will still be linkage after awhile so the best thing is just for u replace the burner.

I don't believe that replacement parts for these portable grills are available in any retail locations. If you can order them, it would be through the manufacturer directly. Unfortunately, you might have to replace the grill if the manufacturer does not carry the part.

Coleman propane stove problem

The connector for attaching the regulator to a disposable propane cylinder has a sintered bronze filter in the tip of the brass probe tube that is prone to clogging, or the bronze pellets get mashed down over time, restricting gas flow, and this will cause a portable grill or camp stove to perform poorly. The filter is so fine that it takes very good eyesight and bright light to see that it isn't solid metal, or use of a strong magnifying lens. The best solution is to buy a new Coleman regulator assembly. If you are unable to get a new regulator assembly and have the skills and the tools, you can try drilling a very small hole on the side of the probe tube with a #60 drill bit, just below the bronze filter, but near enough the end of the tube so that the hole will be past the plastic seal when the disposable cylinder is fully screwed into place. You should avoid drilling directly into the end of the probe tube, as the end of it is used to depress the Schrader valve in the disposable cylinder to allow gas to flow. A #60 wire gauge drill bit is only 0.040 inch (1.016 mm) in diameter, but makes a hole large enough to supply sufficient gas to a portable grill or a dual-burner camp stove. If you choose to perform this work, the probe should be unscrewed from the regulator body and the Schrader valve core in the probe tube should be removed before drilling. Be sure to clean all brass and bronze particles out of the probe tube before re-installing the Schrader valve core and the screwing the probe into the regulator. Use a removable-grade thread locking compound to secure the probe in the regulator body and don't over-tighten it, so as not to crush the rubber gasket. Allow the thread locking compound to cure for several hours before attempting to use the regulator. Keep in mind that this modification increases the likelihood of dirt getting into the needle valves and jets of your stove or grill, which can cause maintenance problems in the future.1_28_2013_4_49_27_pm.jpg
