Do I create folders on my mermory stick to download my music, pictures adn ringtones?

Actually you dont have to, the Phone creates these folders automatically, all you have to do is copy your music to them. But strangely enough your music and Pictures dont have to go in the music and pictures folder, you can place them where ever you wish. Just in case you need to create folders manually you can use the procedure outlined below. However there isnt any need too, the phone should create these folders automatically once your format your memory card (view your phones manual for details on doing this). But remember you can put the files anywhere the folders are just there for sorting sake..

connect the memory card to your computer via a port or some device,,(like cellular phone or camera)

1.) when windows read the card, click cancel to close off the window
2.) click start / my computer
3.) double click on your memory card (it shows up as a removable device)
4.) right click on any empty spot and (left click new and left click folder)
5.) type the name for your folder

click the - sign to minimize the window

1.) browser to the folder where you have your music or pictures in
2.) select the files you want to put on memory card (hold ctrl and click multiple files)
3.) hold ctrl and press c (Ctrl + C) to copy the files
4.) click on your memory card window to the button of the screen to open it up
5.) right click in any empty space then click paste.

your files will now be copied to the folder you created on your memory card. Repeat as needed to create more folders and copy more files.

I have videos on my gigaware 8GB video mp3 player but the videos can't play

Go to my computer, then click on your mp3. Click the storage in your mp3 player. Folders should pop up like music, pictures, etc. Your going to have to make a video folder by clicking a empty space in window and selecting new and the folder. Name the folder Video (make sure the Video is capitalized). The video format the movie/music video needs to be in is .WMV make sure you put the video in the video folder for it to work. This works on all windows operating systems.

Western digital external hard drive showing empty folder

Hi Elizabethfam

If not removed safely, external devices can lose information when disconnected.

I recommend using a free recovery tool called Handy Recovery which is normally used to recover files accidentally files on a PC. The application can also be used to try and recover files on your external HD.

Handy recovery: http://www.handyrecovery.com/download.shtml (look for the small button near the bottom that says 'Freeware')

Good luck!

Insignia 2gb video mp3 says DATABASE FULL DELETE CONTENT or RE-FORMAT DEVICE

Hey ! This happened to me when I took my MP3 off of my Mac. I didn't know why ,but I sensed a pattern. Thats when I figured it out. All you have to do to prevent this is "Safely Eject" your hardware from your computer whenever you are done placing things on/ taking things off of it from your computer. For a Mac, all you do is drag the Icon thats on the desktop to the Trash, and it will eject it, and for Windows, you go o the bottom right hand corner of your screen and find the "Safely Eject" icon, click it, and then click what you want to eject.
Now, if you have already done the action and that message pops up, this is how you fix it.
Go on your computer and plug in your MP3. The files will still be on there, but they won't show up on your MP3. They will show up on your computer. Make an empty, easily accessible folder somewhere (I always put it on my desktop, its not going to be there long). Then, drag all the files from your MP3 to that folder (the ones you want to keep, anyway). After its done copying the files over, safely eject your MP3 from your computer.
Now, go on your Insignia and find where it says "Empty Internal Memory". Click that, and then click yes. It will now empty all the memory from your MP3. Then, find where it says "Restore Settings" or "Restore Default Settings". Click that. Now, you basically have a brand new MP3. No kinks to it.
Now, plug your MP3 back into your computer. The tricky part is when you delete all the internal memory, you also delete some of the folders that actually come with the MP3, namely the "Music" folder. Thats what took me a while to figure out. To regain your "Music" folder, all you have to do is go into the folder named "AUDIBLE" (all caps, hopefully), and then create a folder named "Music" (just type it like that, not "MUSIC" or "music"). After you have that down, you could drag all your music back from that folder you made a little while back. Now you have all your files on your MP3 again! After you're sure its done copying all the files back to your MP3, make sure you SAFELY EJECT the MP3 from your computer. Check that 3 times before you do it, just so you don't have to repeat this tedious process.
And, presto, you're done! At least thats how it worked for me and a few others :D
Hope it helps!!!

I can't find my songs or hear them

I came across the same problem with my Muvo V100. It appears that the unit has a folder access limit of some kind (seems to be 24 folders not sure what detrmines the ones it chooses). I synch with Windows media player and it creates a folder called Music in the root. Within that folder it places sub folders named for the band that the music is from. Within those folders it creates yet further sub folders with the name of the CD the music came from and then finally within those it places the MP3 or WMA files. It appears there may be too many sub folders for the Muvo to be able read all the music. I took all of the MP3 and WMA files and pulled them out to the main Music folder. I then deleted all of the sub folders named for the bands and the albums. When I start the Muvo now it allows access to all of the songs. There may be a way within Windows media player to configure the synch so it doesn't create all of these sub folders. I've not checked. If it is then it would eliminate the manual work of pulling the music files out to the main Music sub folder.
