Remember to disconnect the power before you start working on the range. There are igniter switches located at each burner valve. You will need to remove the burner knobs and then remove the panel that covers the front of the burner valves. Once this panel is removed you will then be able to see the ignition switch on the burner valve stem. Now you will need to locate the defective switch. Once wires are disconnected the switch should slide away from the burner stem. Then you can reverse the installation process with the new switch to finish the job. The switch can be located here http://www.appliancepartspros.com/part_details.aspx?part_id=4101554
Be gentle with the part because they are plastic and can be damaged if forced.

Jenn Air JGR8750 - Oven heats _very_ slowly; take 45 to 60 minutes to heat to 450ºF. I can hear faint ''whump whump whump'' from the oven as it heats. Purchased in 1998.

The problem is usually the igniter not reaching the correct amp draw .When the igniter does not reach the correct amp draw it may allow the gas valve to partially open or not open at all. The igniters are inexpensive and easy to replace. This video will walk you thru the correct procedure for testing an oven igniter. It may be a different model but the testing will be the same. You can also enter your model # for diagrams and illustrations of your specific model. Not all models are available. All parts come with installation instructions.

Jenn air downdraft cooktop. We had a new Jenn Air

Hi,

This is normal, Jenn Air along with many manufactures use one ignition module for all the burners. So when you turn one knob on all the ignitors on top will spark but gas will only flow to the burner with the knob on.

Here is a copy paste from a Jenn Air Owners Manual, I do not have your model number so I cannot be sure this is the exact phrase in your book.

I hope this helps!

To Set:
1. Push in and turn knob counterclockwise to light the burner.
All surface burners will click. Only the burner that has been
turned on will produce a flame.
2. Turn knob to anywhere between HIGH and LOW. Use the
following chart as a guide when setting heat levels.

All cook top burners spark when any is turned on

OK, the best action is to call for service, if the unit was just installed, and purchased. This unit should be covered at this time, by the manufactures warranty, or store 30 day warranty. This repair should be free. The culprit will be a faulty spark ignition switch, and module. Testing is required. Once this switch, or(module), is replaced, the unit will operate correctly.
