A search for that part showed a lot out of stock. But here's one on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/Gateway-M675-Dual-Heatsink-Cooling-Fan-8008625-/230467425374 If you think it is bad there is no other way to find out unless you replace it and see.

Fans keep running high speed on the E210882 motherboard

This may be because the system is running too hot. The fan sits on top of the heatsink which cools the processor. If the heatsink is blocked with dust, the fan will be working harder trying to blow air through the heatsink fins to cool the processor. Open the case and check that the heatsink is clear of dust.

What if the fan is running and the air way is clean, lots of hot air blows out and my comp. and it shuts down every 5 or 10 mts. Could it be the cpu? or is there other device known to cause this...

The most probable cause is your Processor gets Overheated and causes restart to your system. Try having a suitable CPU Fan or go for a compatibility checking issue for your Motherboard and Processor.

I have a gateway MT3707 pc notebook. It randomly freezes (no blue screen) & I have to hold the power button down to shut down & reboot. Is this a driver issue or hardware failure... I'm thinking...

This could be a sign that your laptop is overheating. If you touch the laptop while it is running & you find it too hot, make sure that the fan is running properly & that the air ways are not blocked.
You can blow compressed air into the cooling vents of the fan. If you notice clouds of dust coming out, then it might be a good idea to disassemble the laptop, clean the fan & air ways, & reassemble it back. If the fan has failed & is no longer running, it might need to be replaced.

If none of this solves the problem, or is not the case, then you might have a bad motherboard.

My gateway m520x will run shutt down

Sorry you are having trouble. Laptops run a little hot but I think you are right about the overheating. The cheapest fix is to get an underneath cooler from somewhere like Best Buy. They sell for around $20. To really fix the problem will require finding out why it is getting hot. Usually this is a program that is "hogging" the processor's time. There are programs available that will make your fans run faster and processor run cooler. Some are free. Some cost a lot. If the fan has stopped or slowed it needs to be replaced. If you are very patient you can attempt to replace it yourself but be aware many a laptop has died as a result of being opened improperly. My advice is take to a shop if under cooler does not help.
I hope this helps

My hard drive has been making a clicking noise for a while, the computer freezes up at times, I do not think the cooling fan is working, could this cause the issue with the hard drive making noise, and if...

More than likely, your hard drive is failing. This COULD be the cause for the freezing. The other thing that could cause the freezing is if the processor is getting too hot due to the failed fan. Either way you will need to have your HD replaced before it fails completely. The clicking you are hearing is the read head hitting the case of the hard drive. It might have started from being too hot. If the parts of your computer are getting too hot, it will increase the chances that they will fail in the future.

How often should a fan go on on a gateway? Mine is not running and computer freezes then I have to manually shutdown and turn back on

The fans, especially the one on top of the processor, should run all the time. If it is not there is a problem. The computer is shutting down to protect itself from overheating and burning out.

You need to get it repaired asap.

My laptop freezes often and clock stops running

i would recommend a fresh install of windows and if that doesn't solve your problem then check that your processor isn't loose and while you check inside the laptop give it a good hoovering to get rid of any dust. i think maybe it freezes because it gets too hot so i would recommend hoovering inside and buying a laptop cooling platform off ebay (fans that the laptop sits on.

Overheating

Overheating is a big issue with Gateway. It mostly involves problems with the fan. When Gateway receives a warranty fan problem they replace it with a fan that is reconditioned or rebuilt (probably from another cutomer's unit like yours) and they don't seem to last long. To make sure it is a fan problem, which is the most common, Turn on the laptop and wait to see if the fan is turning on. It won't take long, processors get hot quick. The fan should turn on and run anywhere from 3 to 15 seconds then turn off. It should do this approx every 5 to 7 minutes in order to keep the processor cool. If it doesn't work at all, works seeming sporadically, or the processor gets really hot before the fan starts, then it's a fan problem, and a NEW fan should be purchased. If the fan works properly, then it could be that the fan and heat sink need to be cleaned internally due to dust build up.
