Hdm1 jack not working

When we tried to connect the hdm1 to blue ray player it shows "no signal". when we plug into hdm2 it does work. However, we have the bule ray plus the cable set top box. we need both. both inputs are unlocked. why doesn't hdm 1 jack not work, and would it take much to have it repaired.

SOURCE: 42LG50 TV - Intermittant sound problems with blu-ray HDMI input

You say this doesn't happen on regular cable or when playing a regular DVD. Hmm. Is this Blu-Ray player connected by simplink? HDMI is a bi-directional format cable, so  there are cases in setups where your tv can send commands to your blu-ray player and vice versa. It could be a problem with your blu-ray player that it is sending for some odd reason a mute command to your tv. Or is processing a command that your TV interprets to be a mute command when playing blu-rays. Because if it was the TV itself chances are you'd see this when watching a normal DVD or on cable as well. Since you say you're not, it leads me to believe the issue lies with the blu-ray player itself.

SOURCE: "No signal" sign on TV screen using HDMI selector

it sounds like a refresh issue, double check you selector and make sure it fits the refresh of the tv. i had this once with a sharp where the tv was 120hz and the selector was 60 and it created a no signal and when it did come in it was jumpy. if you have a 120 tv then selector should be the same.

SOURCE: When i try to play a Blue Ray DVD, the LG LCD tv

Pickled! You did right by checking the cables, the tv inputs and as well the output on the blue ray...even by replacing the blue ray. Which leads to a problem within the tv monitor. I can only guess there is something in the software of the tv that is causing the problem. I can only suggest two options. If can connect the tv to a network via CAT5 cable, you can do a frimware update to the tv. Sort of like a software update. If it is not available, try to swap the HDMI cable for the 5 RCA component video. It will still carry HD signal, just not as crisp as the HDMI. I would be floored if the same thing happened with the component cable.

SOURCE: HDMI input does not work

Hi

Thanks for using FixYa. Two things may cause the “No Signal” message to come up are - no data available for closed captioning and a weak signal input. Your TV is in the Closed Captioning Mode. To turn it off simply bring up the on screen menu and scroll down to the part that says closed captioning and turn this function off! With the closed captioning block displayed and the program being viewed is not sending out closed captioning signals the TV will display, No signal!
I’ll suggest you to run the HDMI from the PVR (personal video recorder) directly to the TV (mute the TV), and then run the optical audio from the PVR directly into the receiver's optical in. The closed captioning is something that is addressed in analog broadcasts, but not necessarily digital broadcasts. Try using Component cables if this doesn’t make a difference. After using components cables the issue will be resolved. Please do accept the solution if the issue is resolved or post a comment for further assistance.

Thanks
Rylee

I have a Model D12-100 flat-screen TV, hooked up to DirecTV. I have lost my TV remote and have lost the signal for DirecTV. How do I get the signal to the HDM1 or HDM2 category without the TV remote?

First off, D12-100 is your direct TV Box, Not your TV. A D-12 -100 direct tv box is not an HD box and will only connect to your tv via a coaxial cable or av jacks (red, white, yellow).
If you have lost your remote for your tv and your direct tv remote does not operate it, then you should be able to find the manual buttons on your television somewhere along the edge of the screen.
Toggle inputs till your on "TV" then use the channel selection to toggle it up or down till it's on channel 3 or 4 for Direct tv, If that doesn't work toggle inputs again and try the AV inputs. And of course if you want to use another device toggle inputs to HDMI 1 or 2.

How can i connect a video camera to play through tv. my camera cables are red-white-and yellow. tv. is white-red- green-green-and red.

Your camera has three cables, red and white for stereo audio, and yellow for what is called composite video. Composite video puts the three color signals into one composite signal. Your TV sounds like it has a component video connection, which wants all three color video signals separated onto three plugs. They are usually color coded green, blue, red. Not sure if you mistook a blue outlet for green..... In any case, on my TV, it will allow me to connect a yellow composite signal to the green component jack, the first (leftmost) of the three component video jacks. Not sure if your TV will work this way, but it is worth a try. Otherwise, you can look up accessories for your video camera and see if it can output true component video and stereo audio, but I tend to doubt it will.

The HDM1 on the DVD player model DVP3962/37 has no signal. The player has been working for a year with no problem. We can only watch the DVD on component 1 which is not in color.

The HDMI should work hooked directly to tv through An HDMI input but if it doesn't, try either watching yourself or have someone watching while you twist and try to push all three(blue, green ,red) connectors into their in/out jacks. I feel composite gives you better picture anyway> the HDMI is just easier because it carries sound and audio. Anyway, one of your jacks is probably not in all the way>

My Sony DVD player is only showing colors in green and purple hues. Could it be a connection problem?

Yes. Could be the color signal jacks in the back. Make sure you have them plugged in properly, green for green, blue for blue, and red for red.

T.v. flashes off and on while watching it but doesn't do it when watching dvd's

Dan,
I'm assuming that the source that flashes is sat/cab connection. If the cable types are the same between the dvd and the other source (both hdmi ?) then try swapping them. If not then purchase a cable to swap(keep the receipt and make sure you can return) to see if the problem goes away. If it is a cable/sat/dvr then try unplugging for about 30 minutes and plug back in. If that doesn't work, then try changing the input where the cable plugs into the tv . . . if its HDM1, then move it to HDM2 and make sure that you switch sources on the tv to new source . . .
