The pawl ratchets seem to be sticking for some reason, try some WD40 inside the recoil. Stephen.

My Husqvarna FT900 tiller will not start

If this machine has been stood for nearly a year with fuel in it the fuel will now be stale, you need to drain the tank and refill with fresh fuel, if you are lucky it will fire up, if not you may need to remove the carb and clean out, remove the air filter and fire a small shot of fuel straight down the carb, this may encourage it to start.

Tiller Trouble 3/18/12

You might try using an upper cylinder lubricant to free it up. Use a very light oil such as marvel mystery oil and begin with placing a few drops on top of the piston - you will have to take the spark plug out in order to insert the oil. Let it sit overnight with the oil and then try turning it over with the rope. Hope this helps.

I have a 19" 7 horsepower dual rear tine tiller and can not find out what size belt it takes. It is a craftsman bought at Sears. I lost my manual for it.

If you're talking about the dual-rotation rear tine 900 series, produced by AYP, sold by Sears as Craftsman, also sold by Husqvarna, the actual belt size is 51-3/8". A 51 should work.

My belt keeps coming off on my tiller its a 24

There are several possibilities:
1. the belt is old and over stretched and needs to be replaced.
2. you have a bent shaft that causes the pulley to speen crooked.
3. The pulleys are not lined up. You should be able to adjust them by loosening them and sliding them back and forth on the shaft.
