Question about Washing Machines
Thank you for the detailed symptoms! They are explained well enough for me to give you a diagnosis that I am 95% sure of.
You are correct, you have 2 separate problems.
#1 Lid switch, part number 3949238, the lid switch sounds like it has too much play in it, this can happen internally or the outer case of it can crack, either way it needs replaced, it runs about $40.00
#2 Motor, it sounds like the high speed windings on the motor are bad this could cause the motor to labor and draw high current during the spin when the most load is on the motor. It runs about $190.00
It is a hard decision to make, but even though this in only 5 years old I would think hard about putting this much money into the washer.
