Question about Accurian AVR-5048 Receiver

Open Question

The error message flashes "protector" then it shuts off.

Hi
I bought this receiver about 1.5 yrs ago and have used it 10 hours max and never over an hour at a time. When I turned it on today it played fine. Then after 10 or so min's it flashed "protector" then shut off. So I turned it back on again and it flashes again and shuts off. It just keeps doing this over and over. I tried unpluging it. I tried unpluging all the speakers and nothing helps. Any advice you can offer will be much appreciated. Oh ! and there is nothing mentioned in the manual about a protector error. Thanks

SOURCE: Accurian 6.1 Receiver flashing PROTECTOR

I been reading a lot, dont have much experience but this is what I have seen.... if your speakers are 4 ohm then your impedance on these speaker will be too low and should cause the receiver to overheat, this is a natural occurance as the extra power has to go somewhere, in this case the form of heat, this particular receiver is meant for 6 ohm speakers, so i would recoommend either 6 or 8 ohm speaker systems (too high is okay, just not as loud), was it getting really hot before it couldnt turn on anymore? I mean burning hot... if it really got that hot it's possible that some loose solder points may have disconnected, if you fried your board... good luck... cant help ya there... maybe take it to a radioshack?

When I turn on my Home Theater Sony Model hcd-hdx576wf this message appears, "protector, push power". what I can do?

Follow the steps below to troubleshoot if the word PROTECT or PROTECTOR is flashing on the A/V receivers display.
1. Check the speaker wires and speakers for proper connections.
2. Reduce the volume level. IMPORTANT: If the receiver is played back at maximum volume level it may enter the protect mode. Maximum volume listening will cause the receiver to run very hot and may drain the output capacitors.
3. Disable the surround sound option if both the A and B speakers are being used simultaneously.
4. Ensure the top of the receiver has proper ventilation to keep it from overheating.
5. If the message only occurs when using a DVD player, the sampling frequency may be set too high. IMPORTANT: Some receivers provide compatibility with the higher sampling frequencies through alternate connections. Consult the owners manual for specific information.
6. Unplug the AC power cord for about 1 to 2 hours to reset the output transformers.

Hello,

The errors indicate the water valve or water sensor failure.
The washing machine have a water sensor to prevent overfilling. If you change the sensor, the washer will be work again.
FE error mean washer overfilling
PE error mean water sensor fault
