Hello Ted:
This is a very good OM for a Remington. Look at figure 8 on page 8. The adjustment block MUST engage one of the holes in the bar, Then do 1 through 5 as illustrated and you cannot go wrong.
http://shoppingcart.msservicecompany.com/msservice_net/product_files/113005-01D/113005-01D_OM.pdf
If the block is engaged, the bar nuts are finger tight , and the adjuster will not tighten the chain it must be stripped. If not stripped, follow this example.

If it still causing problems try a local saw shop where someone can see what the problem is. Ask them to demonstrate please.

If you have more questions or need additional help please reply below and I will get back to you. HTH & Good Luck.

    If stripped post back with a model number, there may be a repair kit.

    If yours is a solid nose bar (no sprocket) tighten until the chain just touches the bar no extra adjustment. HOLD THE NOSE UP while adjusting and tightening the bar nuts.

Chain brake locked up on Poulan 3314

About all you can do when that happens is disassemble it and put it back together after a good cleaning and check for broken parts while you have it apart. Good luck.

Chain came off and it is too long and can't get it back together.

I take it to mean the exact same chain that was on there before now appears to be too long. Obviously, this is a clue. These things don't stretch.
All chain saws will have the chain get loose with use. You should be checking this and make an adjustment before it gets so loose that it comes off which is very dangerous and can cause injury.
When it appears too long, I can think of two things that may be happening.
1. It really is too long and you need to find the adjustment screw near the base of the blade and screw it in (with a long screw driver or the tool that came with the unit when you bought it) which pushes the chain saw blade further out and tightens the chain. Usually, to get the blade back on, I have to tighten the screw and loosen the chain and then make it tight again after everything is together, so experiment with the process of tightening and loosening the screw. (Note, the loosening and tightening assumes that the nuts on the big bolts that hold on the blade have been loosened to allow the blade to slide. Make sure this loosening was done first.) 2. The chain may have slipped of the sprocket gear that drives the chain. If you have not taken the blade off you can't see this gear well and might not notice. Disassemble the blade and put it back together seeing that the chain is properly seated. Don't screw the bolts tight before you adjust the tension in the blade as in my remarks above. Tighten the bolts well, as the final step.

Husky 51. Saw gets great spark. seems to be getting plenty of gas too. Fires out of the hole but when i tighten down the sparkplug it wont fire

I have a husk 350, someone owed me money this is what i got. fired only with gas in the carb, would not run at all just start and off. would not fire at all without doing that. I took the carb apart 3 times no luck. Well I I said I am going to take this thing apart and see how its made and then toss it. As I was taking it apart I notices that the head bolts were little lose. I tightened them down put it back together, and that was the problem. Now it starts first lick. Sometimes the head bolts vibrate lose. have found this problem in weed eaters too.

How do i put the brake assembly back to gether

If your saw is indeed a Husky there is likely an illustration of the chain brake on the IPL here:
HusqvarnaUSA.com
http://www.husqvarna.com/us/homeowner/support/download-manuals/
Enter the 3 digit model number (no XPs, Es, just the numbers)
Serial number decode – for use with IPL
06 1500198
06 = year produced – 2006 (single digit before 2000)
15 = week produced - March
00198 = 198th unit Husky produced that week

Rewind don't work

as you put the side with the recoil starter back on the saw, ensure the rewind pack isn't binding. before tightening the screws, pull the rope out a few inches and let it rewind. if it won't, something is binding. keep moving the side panel till it will rewind. I have done this before myself. get it all put back together and it won't work.....
