Question about HP Compaq Presario V2000 Notebook
Hi Dion, with no lights and no power there isn't many options. Check your AC Adapter and make sure you are getting a light on it. You can do this just by plugging in the AC Adapter itself.
Once you verify this then take out the battery from the laptop and only plug in the AC Adapter. If you still don't get power, hold in the power button for 30 seconds to reset the laptop.
Also try a regular working wall outlet, if that doesn't do it then you need to take out the hard drive and the dvd drive from the laptop. Then try turning it on, if you still don't get power, then that means the motherboard is bad and would need to be replaced. You could also try taking out the memory to make sure a stick of it is not shorting out the motherboard.
