Question about Goldstar DH504EL Dehumidifier
Dehumidifier has worked well since we got it(maybe 3-4years ago). Over the past 3 weeks or so, second situation has occurred where ice has formed on the top front of the unit and naturally does not operatre efficiently. Filter is clean, unit is out in the middle of the basement, and everything else seems to operate fine. Thoughts or experiences? Model # is DH504ELY5 and SN is 411TAUl0518...
Usually, ice build up is caused by low refrigerant levels (a dehumidifier is essentially an air conditioner). depending on the unityou may or may not be able to service it. Some of these systems are sealed at the factory and a pierce valve is needed to add refrigerant to the system.
