Insert the HP Product Disk into the CD/DVD drive.

Or, run the pre-installed utility to "burn" your own set of "System Recovery" CD/DVD disks.

Every thime when i start my computer appears: insert the HP product assistent, i do ctr.alt. delete and then i can go on working, what does this mean?

first take a backup of the registry (click on start, run, and then type regedit) ..
once the registry screen opens, click on the top left corner, choose file and then export. You may export the copy of registry to desktop .

now, under hkey_classes_root\installer\products .. check each entry .. if you find hp product assistant, delete the entry ..
now, try to install the printer/or check by restarting the computer.

To get rid of hp product assistant follow these steps:
Click on start then click on run (for XP).
(If u have vista them use the search box which appears when u click on start.)
under run type msconfig and then click on ok. you will get the system configration utility.

HOW DO I PREVENT THE HP PRODUCT ASSISTANT DISK MESSAGE FROM POPPING UP ON MY DESKTOP CONSTANTLY THANK-YOU SINCERELY YOUR FRIEND ALICE

This is quite an easy fix. If you have the original CD for the HP printer you have installed, next time it pops up, just insert the CD let it find the software it is looking for. The message should go away.
If it does not resolve it, your other option is to download the Installer Clean-Up Utility from Microsoft and uninstall the 'Product Assistant'. But if you have the disk, the first method is easier.

On startup I get a windows installer message that my HP Product Assistant is needing me to insert a disk. I have had this computer for 3 years and this just started. It is interrupting downloads, etc.

You must have a HP Printer. HP Product Assistant is not a necessary program.
Go to Start > Run. Type msconfig in the run box. Click on the startup tab. See if there is an entry for HP Assistant. If there is un-check the box next to it. Click apply then OK. It will ask you to restart. Restart and see what happens.
Let me know.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe
