It depends what u want to restore? and what is the problem?

if its in the botting process (boot.ini, ntldr etc.. missing), then you can use any live cd and copy/edit them frome your disk, u can try barte pe or win-pe mini cd, **** its better to boot linux like puppy that loads in ram so u can insert ur recovery disk and copy needed files to your partitions.

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

Thinking ahead for a computer crash keep your driver disk handy

Keep your restore disks safe so then can't be scratched. If restore CDs didn't come with your computer or you cant find them, Save yourself a headache and go to the computer vendors website under support and download all the drivers for your system. Your sanity in the event of a computer crash will thank you.

Oh yeah Back up your data...

How do i use a emachine restore disk on a compaq

You could try booting into safe mode and restoring your computer to a time before the update was installed. Was the update KB977165? If memory serves, this update may crash your system when you are infected. Read more here:

Try tapping F8 when you turn on your computer, select "Last known good configuration" and see if it will load the OS that way. If so, you will want to run some scans. I recommend Malwarebyte's Anti-malware to start:
http://download.cnet.com/Malwarebytes-Anti-Malware/3000-8022_4-10804572.html?tag=mncol

And then run an ESET Online scan
http://www.eset.com/onlinescan/

If last known good configuration doesn't work, try F8 boot again, selecting "Safe Mode", and go into system restore to restore your computer to a point before the update was installed.
in XP it is START>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools>System Restore

Did this resolve your issue? If so, please rate it. ty.

Acer aspire one is brand new and the operating system is not working. The restore disk wont load because the system partition is not recognised.

ok its seems to be a hard drive problem if its new ask the acer customer care to send you a OS disk as the hard drive had crashed.

My system just crashed adn I am trying to restore with the self created backup disks. I have been googling this quite a bit and from what i am seeing I may need to order new backup disks or my hard drive...

XP or Vista?
Common crashes are from bad memory, then the resotre won't work either.
Download microsoft Diagnostics and recovery tools set DART and test the memory first.
If memory is good, then make sure it sin't the DVD drive. Swap the drive with someone elses or get an external DVD drive.
If this fails, purchase the resotre disks. (Hate to get restore disks and find out you didn't need them)

Laptop crash after inserting blank disk

do not worry at all. take out the cd and reboot in safe mode by pressing F8 at bootup. Then you can restore your laptop to an earlier date from Start->All progs->Accessories->System->restore. reboot normal this time.

What happen if computer hard disk overload

your hard drive would eventualy crash and seeing that the drive is overloaded there wouldn't be sufficient space left for System Restore to run as it needs a fair amount of space to run. My advice is to always keep about 10% of your HDD size open for System Restore to run properly in case of a HDD crash or system crash.

Emachines t5212 system restore backup files, please help!!

Hello,

If you only your files to be copied in the other or any storage disk then you can remove the hard disk of your machine and then attached it to the other functional machine. in there you can browse and copy all the important files. after copying all your files then you can take back the hard drive to your non functional machine and then install new operating system. documentation found here: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/316941

tell me if something wrong with your system when applying the solution.
