Question about Garden

1 Answer

I am looking for the part name/number for a Stihl 028WB. The part is a round rubber cylinder with a screw in the center (located just below the port for chain oil). The screw is broken and the rubber cylinder is damaged. What part do I need and how do I make repairs?

All Stihl IPLs and OM parts are considered proprietary. Used parts may be found on eBay but anything new (with few exceptions and not genuine Stihl) must be purchased at a Stihl dealer. I recommend you question the local dealer where you purchase the replacement part for recommended replacement instructions. Sorry I cannot be helpful; blame Stihl!

How to replace worn rubber isolation grommet on stihl 026 chainsaw

I assume you mean one of the anti-vibration rubbers. Look inside it to see if it has a T27 star shaped screw head. If it has undo the screw. If not then it is the push fit type that literally pushes in and out of the hole.

Did you adjust the L screw on the carb to 3/4 open from closed and the H screw 1 1/4 turn open from the closed position. When you installed the new points, did you adjust the timing on them? Also, remove the chain and bar from the saw when you do this, you may find that the clutch could be damaged causing the chain to bind.

My Stihl 028WB chainsaw will start and run a little, will cut for a short time but then the chain slows down and no matter if I hold the throttle wide open it will not cut fast and basically won't cut. The...

Check the engine running (it should 4-stroke at speed when not cutting, but will immediately 2-stroke when cutting) after removing the bar and chain. If the engine seems ok now, check that oil is oozing out of the engine side port. If ok, clean the oil ports at the drive end of the bar including the two small ports that go out to the chain groove on each side, then clean the entire chain groove. Oil the end sprocket (if it exists) and check it's turning. Reinstall the bar and chain, and adjust the chain until it just stops drooping from the lower bar, but not so tight that it can't be turned by hand. If no oil came out of the engine port in the first test, then troubleshoot the oil pumping system from the oil tank filter to the oil pump itself. The chain should cut at any running speed, just not as fast. Make sure that it is properly sharpened. Clean the air cleaner and the muffler if either is plugged. If you have further problems, suggest taking the machine to a Stihl repair center for carburetor service if needed. Hope this helps!

Need to know where the Cam shaft sensor is located on the 2004 Nissan Sentra 1.8

the cam shaft sensor has to be located on the camshaft (thus the name) you will be looking for a fairly decent sized roundish cover usually on the back of the engine with more than likely three wires coming off of it, it will have two mounting screws, why are you needing to remove this?

Chain sew stihle has seized up can you help

Which model Stihl? If it indeed got so hot the engine seized you will almost certainly need a piston and cylinder. It will not be inexpensive.
Was this saw perhaps operated in a lean condition (metal transfer from the piston to cylinder wall)?
1. Remove the spark plug wire and plug. Remove the muffler, hold a light at the plug hole and inspect the cylinder through the exhaust port. Is it smooth and shiny or does it appear speckled with dull gray spots or smears?
2. Pull the starter slowly, inspect the piston as it rises and falls. Is it a dull gray without scratches and gouges?
3. Hold the light at the exhaust port and look through the spark plug hole, inspect the cylinder above the exhaust port. Is it shiny and smooth or speckled with gray spots or smears?
Any spots or smears on the cylinder or deep scratches and gouges in the piston indicate the saw was operated in a lean condition.
Genuine Stihl parts are proprietary; you must purchase new parts through a Stihl dealer, I do not recommend used parts.
Bailey's offers some OEM Stihl parts. What they offer can be viewed here: http://www.baileysonline.com/category.asp?catID=1666
