Yes it did work, I had finally done that and it must have been a problem with the contacts,

    Thanks a lot!

Printer ONLY prints color (Lt. Blue) even after installing new BLACK. Test page and documents are printed in BLUE and if I change the options to B&W only, NOTHING prints.

I have the same problem with the orange light flashing even after I've installed a new black ink cartridge. What are the contacts and how do I clean them? Also, do I need to install a color cartridge too?

Our orange ink light is flashing and we tried changing the ink cartridges and we also have new electrical contacts. It is still flashing.

I had my inkjet cartridges refilled locally. They told me the color cartridge was too dried out and would not work but the black checked out fine. When I reinstalled them, the ink button keeps flashing and I cannot print anything. Turning off the printer and restarting does nothing. I cleaned the contacts with water and that does nothing. If one cartridge works and the other does not, will that keep if the whole thing from working?

I have a HP 772 C printer. I recently had both cartridges refilled with ink locally. They said the color would not work but the black checked out. I installed both cartridges as I thought both had to be in the computer. But the ink light flashes repeatedly and I cannot print anything. Do you have to have both cartridges working to be able to print anything?

Bottom orange light will not stop blinking and printer will not print.  New black ink cartridge installed.  What can I do to turn off the light?

OK-- cleaned everything with cloth, q-tips ect, but my printer still has the flashing bottom light after I refilled by ink locally, then went back and bought new cartridges. IT STILL DOESNT WORK after cleaning very well, and having elec. engineer hubby look at it. Any other suggestions?

Same problem, I printed something last week, but knew I needed new ink, so I went and got refills (which I've never done before, wondering if that could be the problem, other people told me they have no problems with refills) Light keeps flashing and will not print a thing.

I replaced the cartridges on the 722C printer, went though all of the hecks and the orange light is still blinking ands wont print a thing? Woudl it be my back cartridge empty or low or something worse?

Try changing the color cartridge. Also it is a good idea to clean the electrical contacts if it looks dirty.Use slightly damp(use water only) q-tips .
Hope this helps

HP 722C has quit printing black in color draft

WORKAROUND: Select EconoFast or Draft as the print quality setting in the printer properties. This will prevent the color cartridge from being used. - Or - Try another color cartridge. The color cartridge is used to print grayscale images in Normal or Best print modes, so if one color has run out, the printout will have the wrong tint. With a full color cartridge, the colors can be properly combined to create a composite black. CAUSE: When printing with Normal or Best as the print quality setting, the HP Deskjet 710C or 720C or 722C series printer will use the color ink to improve print quality output, even when printing a grayscale image.

Why is the ink light flashing orange? I just printed a test page and both black and white colors printed.

Hi Linda,

Orange light blinks if one of more cartridge is empty. Check which one is empty and replace it

HP Deskjet 950C I have a flashing orange light

I think I may have another solution. I remember some time ago going to HP to get an update for my 950c printer. I think I read something that said, "If you do not really need to download this update, don't do it." I downloaded it anyway. I think then I begin to get notices saying when my ink was getting low, usually long before it actually did. I am thinking also, the same software that gave me those readings, also may have read the color cartridge (and possibly also black) may have caused the printer to turn on the blinking resume (orange light). I then deleted the updated software and reinstalled the original software that came with my computer or old application for the printer. I restarted my computer and tried it again. The blinking light did come on at first; then I realized I had not set the printing format to black only. I also disconnected my printer both and module and power for about five minutes. Still not sure since I just did this, but the orange light is not coming on and the printer prints. LOL, I am low on black ink though.

Won't print

Clean the ink cartridge maybe sticky on the ink outlet. sometimes refill ink don't work because that problem. some people soak the the cartridge in lukewarm water and clean it. other work and some other don't. so next time do not refill ink to way from this issue. thank you very much.
