The power supply is what is wrong. A service center will need to replace it. The only thing you can do is unplug it for a minute and then plug it back in making sure the outlet is working by trying a second electronic such as a lamp or a radio. This only works 1 out of 100 times maybe.

Jvc TV has no power

(See the comment I added to the comment section regarding your 2 volt output)... Without using the remote, press the power button on the TV itself and HOLD IT DOWN until the TV powers on. If that works, it is a (going) bad power amp chip. The good news is that if it works, it will work that way for quite some time, just so long as you are consistent with holding down that power button _until_ the TV powers on. Every time it fails to power on (such as when using the remote and/or momentarily pressing the power button), the chip fails further. In other words, the more times it is allowed to NOT "power on" the closer you get to total failure. So, if holding the power button until "power-on" works, make sure nobody does it the "not-working" way anymore. (Hope that makes sense because it really will matter). The cost of repair is not worth it. If all the above does not apply, you can check for a blown fuse in the TV's power supply. However, I can assure you there will be a (not worth fixing) reason for a blown fuse in the first place. BTW, I had a two JVC TV's with the "power-on" problem as I described above. I threw them away 2 years later _still_ working the way I described to you.

Jvc model no. LT-32p679. cable line was struck by lightning now tv wont turn on

Cable system is grounded to electrical system. Most electronics have fuses inside. Open it up and look for blown fuse.

JVC 36

Hi Dave: "My JVC 36" TV will not power on and has a blinking power light."

That means that the protection circuit has started because a fault had been detected.

If this happened after a power surge it is likely a faulty PSU board.

Try first leaving the set unplugged from power outlet for few hours, this will drain power, reset the protector, and fix problem related to accumulation of electrostatic charges on PSU power capacitors.

If unplugging does not work, that means that there is an internal fault.
If this happened after a power problem of some kind, that means that probably one of the capacitors on powr board had blown, and must be replaced.
The TV must be tested by a technician to find the fault.

Toshiba TV 50HX81

Check fuses on Power Supply board (F850, F851, F852) and all other fuses. Replace blown fuses (will need an ohm meter to check fuses). I would also replace the two convergence amps (STK392-110's on the signal board, the big black ICs on the two heat sinks). This worked for me.

Hello gladwin6,

You may have at least a blown fuse. However you may also have other damage to your power supply. This often happens due to the voltage spike caused by the power coming back on suddenly. You can check to see if the fuse is blown, however once you change the fuse and if this does not take care of the problem, I would suggest that if you do not have a background in electronics, that you have a qualified technician take a look at your TV set.

I hope this helps,
Thank you,

JVC AV-36260 Is there a fuse in this TV or is it a circuit breaker, if it is where is the fuse / circuit breaker located. I am am electrical engineer, but can not find any specs on the inside of the unit

All modern TV's have fuse devices, some glass, some chemical.

However,a blown fuse comes from a short circuit, which I'm sure

you are well aware.Let's talk diagnosis--What is your set doing

or not doing?? Is it dead?==No "on"?? If there is no bad fuse, the

most common solution is a bad capacitor in the power circuitry

number sequence==900's. Ex..C953    value== 1000mf/35v.

Other caps in power supply may be weak.

2) Check Horiz output transistor---shorted? Look for blown B+

fuse + weak or open C523 1mf/160v in horiz drive circuit.Replace

horiz out with high-quality OEM transistor only.I use JVC only

on 32" size & bigger ( you have 36" ).

Let me know by rating this solution...thanks...T.

TV Won't Turn On - Think Fuse Blown

The set needs to be taken apart and visually inspected, look for a burnt spot and it could possibly be fixed by replacing the blown component, or else the wholr PCB must be replaced
