This sounds like the hose connection valve is bad. The part is about $12 -15. I would take it into a qualified repair shop for repair. This type of repair is worth it.

How do I attach the upholstery tool for the Royal RY7910 carpet cleaner?

Flip up the little cover on the clear nozzle on the front, insert the suction hose of the tool and twist to lock in place. Push the water hose onto the valve on the side of the machine.

My hoover max extract dual v stopped sucking up the water on just its second use. Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

The most likely problem is there is a restriction somewhere or a suction leak. Check to make sure you have good suction where the waste water tank fits down onto the machine. Make sure the lid is on the waste water tank and follow the flow of suction from the machine through the waste tank down to the floor and look for debris clogs or any area where there may be a suction leak. If you have good suction coming from the machine the problem has to be somewhere between there and where the water is being sucked off of the floor.

I have a Hoover F5914-900 Steam Vac. I have used the upholstery/stair tool in the past with success. Today I installed the accessory tool , but when I turned the machine on, the fluid drained out the...

If fluid drains out through the bottom of the machine, rather than through the brushes, you most likely have a leak in the quick disconnect valve. ( part # 43523004, msrp $4.99 ) This is the small valve that the end of the hose connector snaps on to. If this is the problem, it will also leak when doing normal rug shampooing. This is a somewhat common problem with this machine. The valve will need replacement.

I do not know how to use the upholstery part to work

hi,

the owners manual is here at this link,

http://www.hoover.com/pdfs/manuals/F5807.pdf

I believe for you to work the upholstery tool the suction tank lid must come off, and the center channel there has to come out for the hose to go into, and then replace the suction tank lid again.

there should also be a second water hose to connect midway down the left side of the unit there little square push/pop out lever. the water hose will connect there and you should be good to go from there. Refer to the manual for the exact directions tho.

Machine will not vacuum up the water

Could be a few things

Look for suction at the head. Turn it on and cover the opening with your hand. You should feel suction. If not something is plugging it or one of the following.

You can usually see a clog as the cover is clear. Fish it out with the tool that came with the machine or fine a wire etc to do the job.

When you put the hand held cleaner in place you remove an insert from the front of the machine. This insert must go back when you change to the main carpet cleaner function.

It could be the lid on the dirty water tank is not on properly or is warped. This will cause a suction leak. If it is warped you can fix it with care. Use a heat source such as a blow torch just enough to soften the plastic and then bend it back into shape with pliers (it's too hot to touch). Be very careful with the heat to just soften the plastic enough to bend.

Furniture cleaning isn't a science: try out a few techniques before choosing the one that is right for your belongings. This step-by-step guide explains how to clean a sofa:
  1. Before using any upholstery cleaning products, vacuum the sofa or chair first to remove as much surface dirt and dust as possible. Be sure to use the correct attachments to avoid damage to the material - a soft brush attachment is ideal.
  1. Spot Clean. Using baby wipes or vinegar poured onto a strong microfiber cloth, apply to any obvious stains, wiping gently as you go. Remember to test the upholstery cleaning products on an inconspicuous area first.
  1. Overall Clean. Using soapy water and a microfibre cloth, gently wipe your sofa with the solution, allowing it to soak into the fabric and tackle the dirt beneath the surface. You only want to use a very small amount of water - don't saturate the material.
  1. Dry. Some people use a hairdryer to quickly dry a sofa, but allowing it to dry naturally is always the better option, if you have the time. To speed things up, open windows and allow the breeze to help with the drying process.

I can not seem to get the attachment for the upholstery cleaner to operate what am i doing wrong????

Hello,
I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure.
The attachment works on the suction from the Hoover Steam Vac and it’s either a straight suction tool or a revolving brush, check the front of the machine to see if the is a switch to turn on and odd, also before you attach the upholstery tool check the end of the hose for suction, it may be that your upholstery tool may be clogged or the brushes are not spinning and a part may be broken. Feel free to check with you local vac dealer or a new or a good used part if you find out what is wrong. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.
