Well banging it certainly will not help. That being said, leave it plugged in and charging overnight. iPod batteries generally in older models takes forever to charge...make sure lock is on...you will see an orange/red mark..
hi, ok you mentioned nothing about the charger, is it built in ? or stand alone charger, can you try another charger ??
If you have a Electrical meter tester check that the charging socket pins do actually connect to the batteries if not check the charging socket,
of the three charging pins two are the positive & negative so should show 24 volts the odd one out the one in the middle just below the other two is the inhibit , that is normally grounded otherwords negative.
Sound like a loose connection so please check all connections if you are sure the charger is ok.
Hi, There is nothing related to battery in this case, I guess. There may be problem with your charger connector. Just put the battery to another mobile and try charging. It it works then the problem is with your mobile connector only. You have to use genuine compactible charger for your mobile. I hope this is helpful to you.
Get a can of air and blow it into the 30-pin connector and headphone jack to clear the phone of dust and build-up. This should clear up the problem. I learned this from an Apple Store Genius Bar associate.
