A345 lens often does not open when power button is pressed. By pressing the power button the 2nd time, then pressing it the 3rd time, the camera seems to work normally. This is with used or fresh alkaline batteries. Shometimes the camera makes a short buzzing sound when the lens retracts. Have also had problems with the zoom lens not operating consistently.

Press the 2nd and 3rd buttons from the left and hold. Press the far right button to pop it out, then turn to the time you want, it is a 24 hr clock. Release 2nd and 3rd buttons and press pop-out button in so it is out of the way. KH.

Nice you asked me. I have a 23" version sitting right next to me. Push any side button. Then press the 3rd button once. Press the 2nd one 4 times, then the 3rd once. Press the 2nd 7 times, then the 3rd once (maybe twice to confirm).

That camera could have two things causing it, 1 the soft press is the auto focus. Most cameras have a half press or soft press to turn on the auto focus and the hard press or press to take the picture. That could just be the camera. Some cameras that can be turned off in the menu. If that is not the case and it does not auto focus when you press it, then it is the button. We used to see that a lot with cameras. The button gives sometimes.

I recently came into this camera and after a day of testing it, it's doing the same thing. My work around is this. When it's on I press the zoom function and the lens then pops out. Then after it's out, I remove the batteries while it's still on. Put the batteries back in, and power it on (lens will be popped out) and then it starts working. I only paid $7 for it at a good will. So I was taking a chance it worked somewhat. This may work for you temporarily. Not sure how long this one will last.

Does it power up in playback mode? If you can view pictures try switching over to camera mode and see if the lense will extend. if not then your lens is possibly stuck. possible solution in "THE ONLY WAY I KNOW HOW..." Have you fully charged the new batteries

Simply wear and tear.- dirt ingression- damage from a knock- nothing you can do about unless you are a watchmaker. A repair will be as costly as simply replacing it Check out Fuji support though to be sure.
