Check the resolution of your computer and make sure that your projector is compatible with the same resolution.

I have an Optoma DS316L which has no red colour, will changing the lamp fix the problem?

No. The lamp is strictly for luminance. You might check the video cable first. If its HDMI going into the projector, swap out the cable. Make sure you have it thoroughly plugged in. Also check the connection on the device you're connecting to the projector, for example a DVR, a computer, a streaming device.

If none of those work, then you may might have a defective circuit inside the projector to interpret color. Hope its on warranty.

I have a Optoma projector and no laptop, but we do have computers. Is it possible to connect the both. How

If your computers have VGA connectors (usually blue coloured) you can take that out of the back of the computer and plug into the projector.

this is a shot in the dark, i don't have a projector to hook to my laptop, but i have hooked it to my tv and actually had to right click on the desktop in an unoccupied spot and go into the display settings to get my connection between both, it is probably similiar for laptop to projector.

I purchased an IMATION Projection Link. It did not come with a CD-ROM or User Guide. I am connecting it to an Optima 728 Video Projector with a VGA cord and an IBM Thinkpad operating Windows XP. When I...

I had the same problem with my Optoma ES566 and solved it by doing the following: 1. Connect the receiver to the projector using the vga cable. 2. Plug in the projector and the receiver. 3. Turn the projector and the receiver on. 4. With the computer booted, plug the USB dongle into an available port. The light on the dongle will flash green and then turn amber when the device is recognized. The projected image should change from the Imation logo to your desktop.

This sequence has always worked for me.

Projector can't connect to laptop

We just solved a similar issue. Most likely your PC or laptop is currently set to a display resolution that is too high for the projector or is one that it cannot handle. Try setting your computer display to 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 and see if you can get the projector to work. If it does, then you can figure out the maximum display resolution you can use. Also consult your projector documentation for supported resolution modes.

For the PICO in particular, it looks like those are in general for small mobile devices (320 x 240 or less displays), and the PK102 model has native VGA (640 x 480) support with extended support for 800 x 600. You will not be able to use this on most modern computers except at the lowest resolution setting for the PC.

Projector to laptop

Hi,

Your post:
  • cords/cables - would depend on what are the available OUTputs from your laptop. Some examples are DVI, 15pin VGA, S-Video and the single yellow RCA;
  • where - would depend on where you are, the DVI and/or 15pin VGA cable would be available from most computer shops, the S-Video and the RCA from most electronic, audio/video stores.
  • how to do it - would depend on the brand & model of your laptop. Normally it would be a combination of the Fn key + F? to enable the external video. Cycling through would yield, LCD only, LCD + external, external only. The F? would be dependent on what laptop you have. Connection wise, it would be a matter of connecting the appropriate cable to match the available output connector of the laptop to a matching INput connector of the Optoma projector;
  • Additionally, depending on the model of the Optoma (more specifically its resolution), it may be to your advantage to initially lower the screen resolution and screen refresh rate of the laptop.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.
