SOURCE: Refrigator is not Cooling anything

Michael, couple of things to check. Is the compressor running? If not remove the back panel and check the overload and relay. It should be a white box on the side of the compressor. Unplug the cord and remove it. Shake it, does it rattle? If so, there's your problem. If that's not the case look for a frost up on the back of the freezer on the panel. If it is all frosted up, you have a defrost issue. Catriver...post back.

Look inside at the freezer at the back.
If you see ice like snow at the back your ref is frozen and can be a thermostat or heater

SOURCE: freezer cold /refrigator warm

When the compressor is running, if the fan by the compressor and the fan inside the freezer are both running, and there is no frost on the back wall of the freezer (if there was frost would indicate a defrost issue) then check the air dampener. It is located at the very top left back side of the fresh food section. If it is not opening up, no air will flow from the freezer compartment (where all the cooling takes place) into the refrigerator section.

SOURCE: Refrigator not cooling but freezer is.

Need to unplug and lets find the problem. The compressor cannot take much of the overheating. Find your model number like 213.256489 for example and let me know, I would like to see what condition the start relay and capacitor are in. And check the compressor windings. Let me know Sea Breeze

Freezer is cole bottom is not

check for frost build up on rear panel of freezer section. if so your unit is not going through defrost cycle. if you get frost build up on the evaporator then your cold air flow into fresh food side has been restricted

Ice maker on G E refrigator

If you have low water pressure to the ice maker it can cause the unit to stick. If the water fill is ok then the ice maker is going out or the freezer is not staying cold enough. Icemaker has to reach about 12 degrees to cycle.
