SOURCE: memory card cannot read by digital camera.

Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. To format the card: Press the Menu button - right arrow to Setup - go to format option- You will see format yes or no. Choose Yes and press ok. This will clear the write protect message and the card can be used again.

SOURCE: Took pictures on camera without inserting card, no cord

Yes, there is.

Insert the card into the camera. Make sure the storage location is set to internal memory.

Press the Review button, then press the Menu button. Press up/down to highlight Copy, then press OK. Press up/down to highlight an option, then press OK.

Note: this process is actually a copy, not a move. The originals will still be in internal memory. After you transfer the pics to your computer, you can then delete them normally.

To change the storage location, press the Menu button. Press up/down to highlight Image Storage, then press OK. Select Internal Memory and press OK.

The camera should have come with a USB cable with which to connect the camera straight to the computer. Connect the camera (with the memory card inserted) to the computer and see if you can access the photos.

"Memory full" displays on screen.

You still need to get rid of the pics on the internal memory. With no card in the camera, go into the menu and find "format" and follow the on screen instructions to erase the internal memory. Then, insert your card and it should work properly.

If you can also view the pictures on the camera with no card inserted, it means the pictures are actually on the camera's internal memory. Try that first. Next, understand that sometimes the built-in slots on a computer can stop working for no apparent reason. Get a separate card reader and try that. typrice_104.jpg

The image on the internal memory can be accessed only by connecting the camera directly to your computer. Assuming that you are using a Windows-based PC. If you are using Windows XP or a later Operating System, you do not need to install any driver for the camera. You can use the supplied USB cord to connect the camera to the computer. The camera will be shown as a drive in My Computer. Open the folders with either 'DCIM' or 'PANA' (e.g. 101_PANA) in the name. Copy the images to your computer.

How to transfer Nikon Coolpix camera pictures to memory card?

Make sure you have an SD memory card inserted and your camera is on. Press the Play button to view your images. Now press menu and scroll down to the copy feature. You have two options, copy from camera to memory card is on top, and from memory card to camera is on the bottom.  Once you select your option, choose your pictures and copy.

Can not view pictures

No this camera does not have any internal memory. All images should be written to the memory card if the memory card is inserted properly. If the memory card is not inserted correctly the camera screen will show a message of No card. Do you see that message?

Chip says full after few pics

The chip may not be inserted correctly. You can tell by seeing or not seeing SD symbol in the view screen. Try removing the SD card. Go through the memory and see if the pictures were saved to the camera or to the card. If the pictures were saved to the camera, turn off the camera and re-insert the card. See if the cards responds by showing more pictures available for taking and move the pictures to the card. If the pictures were saved to the card, then the card may need to replaced.

Screen reading memory card not initialized

Hello

  • Insert your memory card into your computer's reader if you have one. If not, you can purchase a multi-format USB Memory Card reader from Amazon.com or Buy.com
  • 2 Open up 'My Computer'. You should see it under the list of available drives.
  • 3 Check its contents first to make sure that you have the right drive.
  • 4 In 'My Computer', right-click on the drive and choose 'Format'.
  • 5 Leave all the options as they are and click on 'Start'. This is a non-reversible process so make sure this is what you truly wanted to do in the first place.
  • 6 Once the process is completed, take the memory card out and insert it into your Digital Camera or any other device. Try to browse to it to make sure it works fine now.
