When I connect, I get a message that there is no disk in drive.

    exact same device with same problem. no answer on the web anywhere that's useful. damn shame as there has to be a solution somewhere.

    My pen drive does not open.When i click the link,i get please insert
    disk as a message and unable to open the contents.However the light on
    the pen drive is on and also i am able to stop it and remove safely

    Same problem here - I insert the stick, Windows XP Home (SP3) finds the device and says it's ready to use. However, it is listed in Hardware as "Generic USB Flash Disk USB device" and not as "JetFlash TS16GJFV10 USB Device" as it used to when it worked.



    The drive shows as G: or whatever letter I assign to it, but when I try double-clicking it all I get is "please insert disk into drive G:". Cannot format it either: "there is no disk in drive G:".



    There is nothing wrong with my USB controllers and drivers, as my other sticks and USB devices work just fine.



    Anyone know a solution to get the stick working again (never mind the data)? Is this particular model (Transcend JetFlash V10) a lemon?

    I just realized something. (This is actually my THIRD stick of exactly the same model, Transcend JetFlash V10 16GB). One of these three works fine, another stopped working after a few weeks in exactly the same manner as is discussed here so I took it back to the store and got a replacement of the same model which now did the exactly same thing after working for a couple of weeks.



    The difference between the one that works fine and the two others that have failed is this: when I shake the stick, the innards of the defective ones rattle. The one that works does not rattle.



    Try shaking your defective ones and say if they rattle or not...

    my transecend pendrive shows light n also it get connected but shows zero bytes as size n also not opens says please insert disk.

    i have a transdent 2gb memory stick... it does not open at all.... it goes into the prompt mode and then nothing happens at all....
    i also tried shaking it.... no sound...pleaz suggest something....

    Neither OS, nor USB-configuration have relations with the problem, 'cause other USB-drives work fine in the same port. OS - WindowsXP, where no particular USB-driver is needed.
    I have the same problem with V10 8GB - 'Generic USB Flash Disk USB device' and no possibility to format or use the drive.

Hii i have JF V30 / 8GB Transcend pendrive.


Try finding a little switch on the pendrive, it'll be pretty tiny. This switch determines if the drive is read only or writeable. If not you can try disassembling it to find the switch. Check your manual if it says anything about a read/write switch.

When i format transcend 8gb jf v10 it says disk is write protected. I'm not able to add data or format it please help..


I have purchased 8gb Transcend Pen Drive When i Connected the drive in computer a message shows "Please insrt a disk into drive". I have checked in several computers but the problem is same. Although the disk is detected but not shows the capacity when trying to open this message displayed. I have change the drive letter from my computer "Manage" option but the problem is same. What can i do?

Format Problem


Usa a program like Acronis Disk Director. Install it, run it, find your flash drive, delete all partitions on it, create a new partition and format it.
