Vvicam 3625 does not working with windows XP

My vivicam 3625 is working fine with win me.
When I hooked to win xp operated laptop, the camera is not detected.
I have installed all the software in the provided CD.

Another problem is the camere keep giving "write protected" message when I put the SD RAM in.(Note:Brand Toshiba 64 MB)

Please put some advise as the problems cause the camera to be useless.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

SD and SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

install the a driver of your camera, so the pc will recognized what device that plugged.
usually, the cd driver included when you buy the camera.

I have Vivitar ViviCam 8400 Digital Camera and i want usb drivers for windows.

Hi,

There is no software required for your camera to work in the windows Me/2000/XP/Vista/7, Mac OS X, and Desktop LX . Driver software is required only for windows 98 for other it should work fine .

Hope this helps.

I believe your CCD chip has gone bad. If all other functions are working, it is definite the chip at fault. Unfortunately, the chip is not available for replacement. Also the repair cost may out weight the replacement cost.
