    Hiya,

Just realised when looking that these earlier they are different. I am in the UK but I noticed that the Duratool will ship. Do I need the full set or will any of the smaller sets have the driver I need ?

Thanks for your help, I thought I was going mad.

Is replacement of the screen easy once I undo these screws.

Hi.

At least one of the screws at the base must be removed, as this is surely holding the external case. If the two screws are different he other screw may be the screw used to regulate the lens (several camera models only).
If the two screws look the same, then they must both be removed.

To remove the screw(s) at the base, you will need a security screw driver. This is done to avoid non authorized persons disassemblying the camera.

The part number for the original Fuji screwdriver is ZJ00583-100. The part is provided to registered technician only.

If you want to disassemble the camera by yourself, you can use a security screwdriver set similar to the one here: DURATOOL. This sets are the only tools of this kind available to the public. Naturally, do it at your own risk.

Ensure that you have removed the screws at the sides of the Fuji before removing the ones at the bottom.

Regards.

Ginko.

    Hi.

If you are not a technician better buying the whole set. As said the security screwdrivers are normally available only to authorized technician.

Security screwdrivers can be purchased from UK company. Unfortunately most of them does not give details on the single tips included. Big sets include all common tips, like the one for the screws used by Fuji (three cuts type).

After removing external case you will need to undo a couple of screws behind the back case.

To avoid risk of discharge, the two flash condenser (capacitor) contacts should also be jumped to allow discharge. A different way to discharge the flash is by leaving the camera without batteries for a long time. As said, for safety reasons this operations must be done by a technician.

Here the discharge procedure on a similar model:

Here how to remove the LCD. Disconnection of flat ribbon connector nr.3 is also a delicate operation.

    Here some UK kit:

A replacement screen maybe available from this WEB site.
www.lcdparts.net
The screen is removed by undoing the hinge screws, careful unclip the video connector from the motherboard.
Keep the screws together as you remove them so you will know which screws are needed to install when you fi the new LCD screen
Undo the screws that hold the bezel that surround the LCD screen, then remove the bezel (it may be also held in place with double sided tape).
When the bezel is removed the LCD screen is secured to the hinge assembly by more screws around the edge of the LCD screen.

Finepix j10 screen dosnt turn on

I had exactly the same problem with a Fuji J10 last week. The camera would turn on, take pictures ok, but the screen was blank. Not even the icons showed or playback previous photo's.
The problem turned out to be a damaged usb port. All the pins were bent and touching each other as well as the shell of the usb port which should be earthed to the board.

The LCD is broken. I can still use it, it makes good pictures, but it is broken. Can I change it? How much will it cost me? Thank You!

If it is still working then only the casing is broken. Have it replaced. Visit their website and locate a vendor near you.
