Theres really noting else you can do, and most likely yes it can be repaired.

just might cost more than a new one. Maybe not, so take it to be checked.

Silver lens shroud fell off and now the lens wont extend out and the display is reading"lens error"

Hi,

As you have dropped your camera due to that lens barrel (focusing ring) is not able extend, Your camera need to be disassembled to get at the focusing ring at Service Center but you can try these solution.

  • What you can try to do is spray some compressed AIR into the lens to try to free up any sand or dust that may have worked its way in. If that doesn't help, you can gently bump the camera to try to free the focusing ring.

or.......
  • You can try to turn camera ON at the table (facing it to the ceiling), don't put camera down face to the floor when opening.
Good luck and have a nice day.

Rating the solution is highly appreciated.

My mother dropped her camera on the floor and now when you turn the power button on the lens does not come out fully and then it shuts down with 3 beeps. The viewfinder opens, but the lens does not come...

You definitely need to take it to a repair shop. The lens construction is too complicated. It is made up of too many small pieces of different materials.

Thanks for using fixya and goodluck on your digicam!

Hello, I have a Canon Powershot A2000IS. It was dropped whilst on and now once turning it on it beeps and says "Lens error. Restart camera". What can I do to fix this. Thankyou very much

If the camera fell down in most cases it is that the lens shifted slightly..The best solution is for this is to have it opened and fixed manually. Please try a Mechanic it you are not sure of the Camera Systems and Hardware.

Camera dropped and lens is stuck one day i tried to make a video on my camera but then it fell and now the lense is stuck and when i turn it on it wont come out and when i turn it off it wont close

this may sound drastic but, grab the lens and try manualy realigning. If you hear a grinding noise the lens assembly has to be replaced. Flat rate from sony is usually pretty reasonable. Hope this helps.

My lens is stuck half way out.

try Googling "E18" and read about this error signal and the many possible fixes. In your case sometimes gentle (really gentle) inward pressure on the lens tube while turning camera on (or off) will get it going again. Best wishes

A Dropped Camara. Please Read

That is what casio calls a lens error. You will have to send it in and have it fixed. The cameras don't do well even when dropped from that short distance. Call repairs at 800-706-2534 and keep choosing option 1. Tell them that you talked to tech support already otherwise they will try and transfer you to their tech support.
