We have connected V+ by purchasing 2nd skart and hooked up from sony line 1 tv socket to tv and then from line 3/decoder socket to V= box. Tried to burn film from V+ to dvd recorder and ht kit thought it was doing it but after the 2 hours the disc was blank when tried in the recorder. Have we hooked up correctly. If not please advise.,

If you have your vplus box running through hdmi the scart and rf is disabled duno why this is so that is probably why. you would need to go restore the setting to rgb or composite in displat and audio and try it

Can I transfer VHS to DVD on the Philips DVP3345VB? If so, how? The salesman at the store told me I could, but the directions are only for VHS to DVD. (The "Helpful Hints" mention VHS to DVD...

From the information provided by Philips for this model, it appears you can copy DVD to VHS (if the DVD is not copy protected), but not the other way round. The DVD section is a player only, not a recorder. The unit would need a DVD recorder to be able to transfer from VHS to DVD.

You can find information and manuals to download if you go to the following URL:

http://www.p4c.philips.com/cgi-bin/dcbint/cpindex.pl?ctn=DVP3345VB/F7&slg=en&scy=US

If yours is a DVP3345VB, I think the sales guy may have got his wires crossed.

With the new HD transfer. We just have atenna...we just bought a HD TV. Is there a way of connecting the DVD Recorder so I can watch one channel and tape another with this new system

A lot of your question depends on your DVD recorder, but there IS a way to connect them so you can watch one channel and record another one.

First - if you have an HD compatible DVD recorder (one that will allow you to select channel 8, 8.1, 8.2, etc) then you could simply split your antenna signal BEFORE the TV or DVD recorder. Then you can select one channel to watch on your TV while selecting and recording a different channel on the DVD recorder. If your DVD recorder is connected to your TV's Video Input, you should be able to monitor DVD recorder's activity by selecting the "Video Input" on your TV.

If you DON'T have an HD DVD recorder, then you will need to get a converter box to put between the Antenna signal and the DVD recorder. You can then set the converter box to the channel you want and the DVD recorder can be set to record it.

I cant get DVD RW disk to work in ny dvd recorder DVDR5500

This player only accepts DVD+RW rewritable discs. Some players are also fussy with which brands you use. If you are using DVD+RW and it isin't working try another brand of disc.Hope this helps.
