Dell Studio XPS will have the high end gaming capability you want, and a fairly reasonable price.

Hi, when i start a new game in couple of games my display crashes, and shows paralell vertical lines and some brownish background... but the windows is still running in the background, but i can only turn...

Cardinal Rule 1
NEVER PLAY GAMES ON YOU MACHINE....
Cardinal Rule 2
If you insist to play games....go to a galeria and use the games video machine there.....
a few $ spent there will save your laptop....
Laptops are not ment for playing heavy games that require strong graphic card and heavy RAMs...

When I turn on my dell inspiron 1501 the light next to the start button with the letter A flashes but nothing else happens. I have my life on this flippin computer - HELP!

Your data is probably ok so don't worry about the data portion.

You can try swapping / reseatting the memory and booting the computer with the battery out.

If you don't have any success then it points to a motherboard problem, most likely.

If it is indeed the motherboard, I would seriously consider a new Dell since they're only about $200-400 for decent laptops.

You can remove the hard drive and place it into a usb enclosure to remove your personal files.

Hope this info helps.

Battery cannot be identified Every time I boot up my Dell Inspiron 1501 I get the following message: "Warning: The Battery cannot be identified. This system will be unable to charge this battery."...

Generally this is an indication that the battery has failed. The normal life span of a PC battery is 300 to 500 recharge cycles (Roughly 12 to 18 months) so the most likely answer is buy a new battery since this one is already out of warranty
