Amazon.com: Craig 9-Inch TFT Swivel Portable DVD/CD Player with Remote, Black ... But keep in mind this player does not provide the highest quality in portable DVD players one can find. .... The remote stopped working within a few weeks.
QVCThis 10" portable DVD player from Craig comes with everything you need to help keep ... Plays DVD, CD, CD-R/-RW, JPEG; 10.1" diagonal TFT display; swivel screen design..... Couldn't start DVD unless I held down the door or it would stop.

On most of the set top DVD players you use the monitor button or the remote control menu button to access the mode that flips the display (invert). The mode is for those who mount the units to the ceiling of a vehicle for rear passengers to view. You might have to have a DVD playing at the time or just loaded in the stop mode to access the feature.
NK, you have a solder connection or wiring that has come loose or is poorly soldered.. Unless you're really good with electronics don't tackle this one yourself... It's probably not an expensive repair either. A reputable shop can have this one back and running in less than an hour...
If you would like to research a good shop in your area goto:
and enter your state and zip info. That site is the National Electronic Service Dealer's Assn. kinda like going to the AMA to find a good licensed doctor...
here is the answer:
hold down the "MODE" button while a DVD is playing.
