Take a dead blow hammer and plug the air in and gently hit on the cap, you might have to TAP a couple times to seat the cylinder

On anr83a framing nailer i have blow by i can hear at the exhast is that o rings in the cylindder or in the triger

Very often only the upper valve rings into the cylinder replace with the right quality o-rings and lubricate basic oks 1110 after clean or other basic sillicon-based grease and oil regular. also the nail transporter cilinder the same but has not oft great priority by leaking air If the tools was used for a long time without problems buy a complete o- ring kit and exhaust seal, valve all kind of rings that is in it because of the building heat by air copression and the oil acids make the rings hard. there are 4 types of nr83a

Cylinder 3 misses and has carbon biuld up on plug also looks to have oil on the plug, smell like oil is burning , smokes alot out of tail pipe, oil consumtion is a qt, per 300 miles and it looks like oil is...

Geez!

U got a bad piston rings! U have to pull down the PiSTON to replace the PiSTON RiNGS, oil is getting in ur combustion!

Or

Check also the valve guide oil seal, hope that is the faulty one! 'Cause replacing PiSTON RiNGS will cost a LOT!

Check on that first, Oil in ur air filter means a BLOW BACK gas from ur combustion is pushing the oil into the air filter!

BLOW BACK is a residual combustion air that should have been burned or gone thru the exhaust, but w/ poor seal of ur piston ring, it goes into ur CRANK CASE and into ur EGR system w/ excess oil!

Hope that explains everything!

Hi wat shud the compresson be on a honda varedero xl 125

At least 100 psi to run, but should be 125-140 psi
If your not getting any compression and you don't think the rings are bad, then check you valve clearances. If a valve is stuck open, you wont get much compession.
Put motor on TDC. Put are hose in exhaust pipe and listen to see if air is passing through head.
If so the exhaust valve is open.
Blow air into intake side and listen if air is escaping through head. If so, the intake vaklve is open

At TDC both valves should be closed on the compression stroke.

I am blowing oil out of the vent from the valve cover on a 70's 6040. Any answers to this problem?

This is called blow-by. Start with compression test to find out is rings are ok. Need more information like gas diesel, model number of engine. So here is a general run down. Compression is getting into crank case. Several things can cause this. Possible causes are bad valve guides, rings, head gasket valve stem seals. Compression test will tell if low cylinder. If this is ok for your year model look to valve stem seals. If two cylinders next to each other low. Possible head gasket leak. Use compressed air 60-90 psi and listen were air is going. If blowing into crank case or intake exhaust manifolds. If crank case rings if not valves. I am going to assume your engine is burning oil or using more then normal. Possible white smoke from exhaust. If this is the case and compression is good valve stem seals should fix it. Hope this helps. Remember when compressing cylinders have both valves closed on top dead cylinder.

Shooting oil out of dipstick

Your engine breather system is blocked....this means that the only way that the compression caused on ignition that is getting past the piston rings and into the block can escape is via the dipstick tube.
Check breather for kinks and some have filters ensure that these are not blocked

White smoke blowing out the exhaust and oil consumtion on r.cyl.

Its most likely your rings. They get worn and start letting oil into the combustion chamber. They aren't extremely hard to replace.

Rebuilt nail gun and now it just blows air out the exhaust port

This probably is the problem,

The cylinder that the piston moves up and down inside is probably to low, and not making contact with the rubber piece in the head cap.

The cylinder has a spring that allows for movement up and down, take a pliers and gently pull up the cylinder if it does not move freely on its own. It will stop when it reaches the cylinder plate ( the part with 2 screw holes for easy removal). Be careful not to mar the cylinder though.

When reassembling the cylinder should make contact with the head cap. Hope that works!

I have a Hitachi NV 45AB roofing nailer that is leaking a lot of air from the exhaust hole. I just replaced all of the o rings in the nailer and it did not help anything. Could this be a bad exhaust valve?

You replaced all the orings and I take it that you lubed them a little with a light grease. By exhaust valve I assume you mean the plate on top and if so it could be a couple things does the air leak out when you connect the hose and don't do anything if so if you have a dead blow hammer try "tapping" on the top cover with the air connected, some times when replacing the rings the cylinder doesn't seat right away. If it leaks when you depress trigger then I would look for a cut o ring. Let me know and we can fo further
