I would like to inform you that scanning involves bi-directional communication between the All-in-One and Computer, to check if the All-in-One is able to communicate with the Computer, please follow the steps below to scan a document or image from Windows Imaging Acquisition.
1. Verify that the all-in-one product power is turned on and the printer cable is properly connected.
2. Click Start.
3. Click All Programs.
4. Click Accessories.
5. Click Scanner and Camera Wizard.
6. Follow the Scanner and Camera Wizard instructions to scan images to the computer
If you are able to scan from Windows Imaging Acquisition, then the All-in-One is able to communicate with the Computer, at this situation, please follow the steps below to resolve the
issue.
Before perform the below steps, I request you Download and run the HP Scan Diagnostic Utility and check the functionality of the All-in-One. If the issue persists please follow the further steps.

NOTE: Clicking the link may give an error indicating it is invalid. Copy the entire link from "http://" to "&os=228" and paste it in your local Internet Explorer Address bar.

====Run the file hpqtra08.exe ======
1. Click Start and then click Run.
2. Click Browse.
3. Verify that C: is selected in the Look in section, and then locate and double-click Program Files from the list of folders.
4. Double-click the Hewlett-Packard or HP folder.
5. Double-click the Digital Imaging folder.
6. Double-click the Bin folder.
7. Double-click the hpqtra08.exe file.
=====Run the file hpqscnvw.exe=====
7. Double-click the hpqscnvw.exe file.

Performing the above steps will resolve the issue if the issue persists , we need to reinstall the All-in-One software.
Please follow the steps below to uninstall All-in-One Software drivers from your Computer.
1. Turn the All-in-One off and disconnect any USB/Ethernet cable from All-in-One to computer.
2. Insert the all-in-one CD-ROM into the computer. Cancel any installation windows that appear.
3. Click Start on the taskbar and then click Run.
4. In the command box type the following command and press Enter key:
X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall_L3.bat
Note: Here X: is the CD-ROM drive letter. You can locate the CD-ROM drive letter by opening "my computer". For example if the CD-ROM drive letter is E: then you will type E:\Util\CCC\Uninstall_L3.bat instead of X:\Util\CCC\Uninstall_L3.bat.
Now that we have uninstalled All-in-One Software drivers from your PC, lets proceed with the installation steps.

NOTE: Do not connect the USB cable until instructed to do so.
1. Close any open programs, including antivirus programs.
2. Insert the HP Officejet software CD.
NOTE: If nothing appears on your computer screen after inserting the CD, click Start, and then Run. In the Run dialog box, type d:\setup.exe (where d is the CD-ROM drive letter).
3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
Now check the functionality of the All-in-One.
Please get back with your observations and the results which will help me to assist you further if required. It is our responsibility to serve our esteemed customers like you in the best possible way. We appreciate your support and cooperation.
Have a nice time !!

Scanning

Hi GB, try updating your printer drivers:

Create a new folder on your desktop and name it newhpdrivers(substitute your manufacturer in new name). Un-intall printer and printer software completely. Go to manufacturers website and navigate to their drivers/downloads or support menu. Select your model, choose the relevant software and download to the new folder you created on your desktop. Power down your computer. Reconnect the printer to the computer and turn printer on. Power on pc. Windows will detect new hardware and ask if you have the manufacturers install cd or a location to check for install files. Direct the wizard to your new software, follow the rest of the setup instructions and your done.
