To be more precise, if the C7280 All-in-One was a car, it wouldn't start unless you replaced the backseat covers, even if you're the only one in there.

  • meustace Jun 05, 2011

And the replacement covers would be made out of eco-friendly paper, cost lots and have a very very small warning note somewhere on the underside about not being suitable for long journeys or short shopping trips.

"Backseat covers"? "Only one in there"? Wow that's way too much information.

Don't use expired ink. HP puts date codes on the in cartridges for a reason.

I bought a black ink for my hp photosmart c5 180 and the when i turn on the printer it says the ink has expired. Can i still use it or will i damage my printer. Thanks regards Anita

Hello
according to HP
Each ink cartridge has an expiration date. The purpose of expiration is to protect the printing system and to ensure ink quality. When you receive an ink cartridge(s) are expired message, remove and replace the expired ink cartridge, and then close the message. You can also continue printing without replacing the ink cartridge, by following the instructions on the HP All-in-One or the ink cartridge expiration message on your computer screen. HP recommends replacing the expired ink cartridges. HP cannot guarantee the quality or reliability of expired ink cartridges. Device service or repairs required as a result of using expired ink will not be covered under warranty.

Hello. I have HP photosmart C5180 and I only need black colour to print some documents, I bought the original HP ink, but my printer says that I need to change expired colours too (pink, blue, cyan...) but...

Your model is a Inkjet printer working on HP TIJ 4.0 technology4. So it cannot work with one valid cartridge. You have to replace all of them to make you printer to work. This is what HP advices and highly recommends.

The Ink cartrdige can be bypassed only in Laserjet printers

Run out ink error warning message

are using a refilled cartridge?
if yes, install an actual brand new one.

are you using an official cartridge that you've had laying around for a while?
the cartridges expire so check if your cartridge has expired and replaced accordingly.

Yes, you may print with only black.

simply click on: Black Only button.

Hello,

We have 2 reset procedures posted on our web page at:
www.ccl-la.com Look in the printer section and the HP section. They should get you back going again. Use the C6100 series reset, it should work for your C7280 too.

I hope this helps, if so please rate our solution.

Expired in cartridge

I had the same issue with my Photosmart so I checked the HP web site and they said that some cartridges (including HP02) expire but you can override. Try opening the top of the printer and undoing the cartridge latch. Then relatch it and close the top. Worked for me (at least for now)
