Question about Sony KP-61V85 61" Rear Projection Television
I have defective convergance ic`s here is what I was told to do to fix,
"If you know how to solder, this should be an easy fix for you.
The IC markings are STK392-150 with locations IC1502, IC1506, mounted on a big heatsink(s)."
I know how to solder I have stuffed electronic boards and soldered them, if I knew exactly what to solder I could, do I need to replace the IC`s or find a break in a trace on the board? I need the solution expanded (greater detail) if possible, Thank you in advance.
any help would be great
Check this link for the parts you need. Open the back of the TV and you will see the parts there.
I would suggest to remove the defective ICs by cutting the leads from the old ones and remove the left over leads from the assembly very carefully. Once you have remove the leads, clean the holes from the PCB to install the new parts.
Let me know if you need more assistance.
