Is it possible that you had the mower on it`s side to long and the cylinder filled with oil?. If so remove the spark plug and turn the engine a number of times or blow it out with compressed air. Stephen.

Lawnmower blade wont turn

Probably bent the shaft. Disconnect the spark plug to prevent accidental starting and lay the lawn mower on its side. Slowly turn the blade with your hand and watch the center of the shaft. If it wobbles at all it is bent. $150 to $200 job. Probably time for a new mower.

My HUSQVARNA HU775H will not start. I just replaced the spark plug and still nothing.

are you saying it wont even allow you to pull starter out ? if this is so , then remove the spark plug completely and try if it still wont pull then seems it was overheated and now piston is fused to cylinder wall , if it does allow u to pull it , ck your reed valves in head seems there not releasing when they should also have a look at rope in starter it could be all twisted up keeping you from pulling it out as well

Let's see if we can get thru this problem leaving you with a smile on your face rather than a frown.
First look under the deck of your mower. Check to see if the blade may have bent and wedged up against the deck bottom to the point that would not allow the pull cord to be pulled, if this is so remove the blade. Second check with blade off to see if the engine will rotate, i.e pull the pull cord . If the engine rotates with no obstructions you should install a new blade. Third if the engine still doesn't start then you have sheared the timing key. Remove the top cover to the engine and any other attachments, remove the flywheel, replace the shear key. You should then be good to go.
Take your time, take a look, it may not be as difficult as you think. GOOD LUCK>

The pull start cord will only move about 3-4 inches and then it stops and then cord stops, Troy built- Briggs/Statton 21 inch self-propel lawnmower.

The mower's drive shaft may need to be lubricated. If you turn the mower over and try to move the blade by hand (with the mower off, of course) does it move, or is it hard to move? If it's hard to move or it won't move at all, lubricate the shaft by squirting some WD-40, 3-In-1, or other lubricating oil onto the drive shaft where it meets the chassis of the mower. Squirt enough oil to cover the circumference of the drive shaft, then try to spin the blade again. It should at least spin a little bit now. Squirt some more oil and spin the blade again, until the blade spins easily. Then turn the mower back over and try to pull the start cord -- it should pull normally now.

I have a Troy-Bilt Briggs and Stratton 675 series lawn mower. The pull cord is stuck and will not move. I can lightly pull the cord repeatedly and the cord slowly allows me to pull more but if I release it...

Take the plug out and try to move the blade. If the motor won't rotate, the problem might be with the motor and the cord can't move because of it.

I changed the blade, and now it won't start!

Did you replace the blade with a heavier blade, or an identical one? If the pull cord won't pull, it's usually either the blade or the blade shaft causing the problem. Try oiling the shaft and making sure nothing is obstructing the blade from turning.

If you have a pair of heavy gloves, try turning the blade by hand and see if it moves. Squirt some oil onto the shaft where it meets the mower and try turning it again.

Just got a lawn mower and i dont have the manuel. i mowed about 50ft of lawn before it died. its a turn key but even when i pull the cord it feels like its jammed and wont start. It has fresh oil and gas,...

Use a thick gloves and try spinning the cutting blade. There could be a problem with  the shut off brake. Try pulling the lever. Check if the cable is busted.
