If you are using VISTA this was a probloem for many ink level monitors.

Try using a bulk inktank system Easier and visually on display at all times so can see when ink is low before a print is wasted by not coloring correctly.

I am unable to find color ink for my lexmark x6170. Additionally, are all the inks the same (quality)?

Lexmark X6170 uses these two ink cartridges: -
Black Print Cartridge (18L0032E)
Colour Print Cartridge (18LX042E)
It is highly recommended that you use the original cartridges as the cartridges and ink vary from printer to printer.
However, if you are unable to find the cartridges, you may look for refilling option.

New ink cartriges in MP350. Still saying check ink. Why?

If you are using remanufactured cartridges, the low ink warning is normal. Since the printer cannot detect the amount of ink in the cartridge, the OEM companies place a chip inside of each cartridge that counts the number of pages that you print. When the cartridges reach a certain number of pages, they automatically tell your printer that you are running low on ink. Unfortunately, when the cartridge remanufactured the cartridges, the chip is unable to be reset. Here is a link that may help you bypsas the warning for Canon printers:

If this does not help, there may be a setting in your printer preferences where you can disable the ink level indicator.

Unable to print document

Please tell me you are using factory new Canon cartridges.

Third party or even worse, refilled cartridges are the preemminent cause of ink failures.

Can one reset the Lexmark P6250 printer refilled cartridge?

No, you can usually tell your printer to "ignore ink levels" when it gives the ink low warning on your computer screen. As long as they print just keep printing until they run out.

Printer has new ink but always states all the colors & blaack are almost empty. How do I get it to reset to full and print again?

Run the software that was installed from the CD-ROM that came with the printer. There could be a "tool" to do the "reset" (or to tell the print device-driver to re-query the printer, rather than just "estimating" how much ink would theoretically be used as each page is printed).

Note that some refilled cartridges will _always_ report as "empty"l.
The company that refilled the cartridges will tell you if they were unable
to "reset" the cartridge when they added the ink to refill it.

Hp 5150 deskjet says that it is low on color ink

The low ink warning is actually normal for remanufactured cartridges. Since the printer cannot detect the amount of ink in the cartridge, the OEM companies place a chip inside of each cartridge that counts the number of pages that you print. When the cartridges reach a certain number of pages, they automatically tell your printer that you are running low on ink. Unfortunately, when the cartridges are remanufactured, the chip is unable to be reset. The prints should still be the same quality. You can either press the "Resume" or "OK" button to continue printing, or go into your printer settings and manually disable the ink level indiactor.

My 2175 series printer is telling me to check print cartridges. I do that and then it tells me to close the door. It then repeats the commands. Do I just need new ink - they seem fine.I'm unable to print...

u can check the printer ink in printer properties..then dont open the door if u dont change the ink cause hp printer is automatic sensor...when u open the printer door the printer cartridge goes in center automatically...so if u dont change the ink close the door always
