Question about Garden

Riding mower dies after blades are switched on. The Seat switch had been disabled before and was working fine. Just all of a sudden while cutting the mower stopped. Nothing in the the blades or hindering the belt. New plugs, new battery, new relay what else could be the problem?

Please provide your brand and model number.

First, the seat safety switch should be enabled (for the safety of you and others).

There is another safety interlock integral with the blade engagement system. With your brand and model we can probably find that switch...if the problem.

Does the mower run when the blade system is disengaged?

If no, then a possibility is the ignition system.

Model 40808X14A. When blades are engaged, why does mower die?

Most likely something is jamming a blade.
Another possibility is the reversing safety switch is stuck which cuts the engine spark.

My ride on lawn mower is cutting out every time i try to engage the cutting blades

Sometimes it is due to the ETHANOL fuel you are using. ETHANOL is attracting moisture and after a while it builds up water in the tank.

Mower runs fine turn on blades it will die

MikeMake sure that the blades will turn by hand (key out of switch- unplug the sparkplug wires!!!!) there could be a dirt mound or rock jammed in there. OR-

if you\'re in the seat and the engine dies just as soon as the blades are engaged, the engine may need a tune-up. It sounds like it starves for fuel or air under load.

Mower runs fine.when u turn on blades it will die

There is a switch under the seat made to turn off the engine when the blades are "on". You have to be sitting on the seat to engage the blades. If you are, check to see if that switch is plugged into the harness. If it already is, you probably need a new switch, or less likely, but possible, the harness is damaged somewhere up the line.

Husqvarna riding mower smokes when cranked and dies when engaging blades

If it dies when engaging the blades it's not getting enough juice to do so. Test the battery and make sure you are getting at least 12 volts. If not, charge it. If so, the solonid is going bad.

Craftsman ZTS 7500 dies when engage blades or when engage transmission

check the "kill switch" they are usually located in the seating area. it senses for pressure or seat angle and will kill the mower if nobody is sitting on the mower. Good Luck

Engine cuts out immediately when blades are engaged - new mower

Hello,

Check the seat switch. If it is loose/out of adjustment, the mower will die when the blade is engaged. The logic of the mower requires the operator to be present (on the seat) for the blades to engage, or for the mower to move. All of the safety switches are dependent on the seat switch. Dirty connections at the switch, or the switch being out of position is the likely culprit.

there is a safety switch under the seat. to stay running after the brake is released or deck engaged you have to be sitting on the seat or it will die. if this switch is bad it will die as soon as you release the brake.

Mower will not drive

Usually, that's an indication the the seat switch is not working. It's like getting off the seat without locking down the parking brake or getting off the seat with the baldes engaged, same result...engine dies.
