I have the same problem of frozen start-up screen. Removing battery doesn't help at all. Same thing happens when connecting to computer with USB cable. The player is useless. Sandisk was usless. My player was beyond their warranty period so they aren't interested in helping me, even though it is clear from the boards that a lot of people have had this problem. You would think Sandisk would provide some solution in order to maintain and/or build a good reputation. But noooooooooo! ... If anyone has a solution, I would really appreciate knowing about it.

My Sandisk c150 is frozen and I've tried to turn it off and push the Hold button then turn it on again, but all that comes up is a symbol of a lock. Please HELP!

In this case on the Mp3 player itself u will see a Hold/Unphold slide switch just slide that switch to the opposite direction and that will fix the problem

If your player is frozen. Press and hold the menu button until it turns off and try to update the firmware of the player. And also it may be that the songs on your player is causing the problem try to format the player. How to update the firmware of the player please follow this steps. 1.Slide the hold switch for it to show the orange/red color. 2.Press and hold the record button and the menu button until it shows on the player screen Welcome to recovery mode. 3.Download and install the firmware update. 4.When the firmware update has been installed hooked the player to the computer and perform the update.
