Hi, im about to buy a crown com-tech amplifier, 1 channel does not work.. My question would be, is this possibly a simple problem that can be fixed without too much expense. and what would be the best and the worst case of a situation like this. any kind of advise would be fantastic, thanks, dave..

Once a chanel doesnt work its usually a problem with the output circuit.. Worse case senerio is the output ic ,, which isnt expensive to fix.. If your getting a good price then buy it,, take it to a shop change the output ic and you'd be set..

Before asuming it is the power transistors check the power on relay first as mine had the same proble and it was because of the Relay that did not switch on the one channel or amp (remember this is a power amp and consist of two mono amps)

I have a Crown CE1000 power amplifier. I turned it on the other day and I seen a bright flash inside of it. Now the fault lights are blinking and it won't work. Is there something that I can look for or is...

Unfortunately Crown amps are not the easiest to repair as they utilize multiple levels of amplification. Since you saw a flash, a resistor probable smoked, I would recommend that you bring this to an authorized service center.

I'm not sure what you mean when you say the channel 2 does not work in bridge mode. Bridge mode effectively turns the amp into a mono amp, thus there is no channel 1 or 2. The fans will only turn on when the heat is high enough, so that is not a problem. Please describe what you perceive as the problem with these and I'll try to help.

One channel has failed and is in need of repair. There are some transistors inside that are "noisy" and sending signals down the line. This is a bit tricky to find, but a service shop that does audio repairs should be able to fix this. Figure about $15-$45 for parts depending upon what circuits are effected.

Cuold be the final power amp ic. Might be imput transistors to that channel. Its possible to have a cold solder joint on pcb.
Look close at board with good light and a mag. glass to see if any foggy looking joints and heat up with soldering iron then dab with fresh solder.
Good Luck
