It would most likely be in the video circuits where the OSD signal is generated.

Have a two and half year old LCD-40XR11F tv which has developed green and blue horizontal stripes on the screen on all channels and dvds have tried adjusting via menu etc but no luck any suggestions?

Hi John
LCD Televisions are not like the old CRT Televisions of the past.
There is no individual controls to play with. They are totally digital computers inside. The image is stored in memory so it probably has a section of bad memory or the Graphics section is bad.
Other than checking for Bad Ribbon Connectors or bad leaky electrolytic capacitors there is not much you can do.
Good Luck

Apex gt2715 vertical sweep capacitors

Check the filter capacitor to the power supply to vertical output section. Normally, this supply will be provided by LOT. Check the rectifier diode and smoothing capacitor. Replace all the electrolytic capacitors [5 or 6 of them] in the vertical output section. It will be the best remedy. Never forget to replace the supply smoothing capacitor described above.

Toshiba tv top retrece problem

Check for damaged component/s in its vertical output section circuit. Aged electrolytic capacitors may cause this problem. Check and replace all of the electrolytic capacitor at the vertical output section circuit. There will be 5 or 6 of them. Replace all at one time. The fault you describes here is technically knows as vertical retrace lines.

Hi Ron just want to no if you do repairs on the Moultrie D50 trail camera

They are close to the D40s inside but the D50 won't fit a D40s "lunchbox"outer case without modifying it. Both are known for flash problems, which usually ends up being bad charge capacitors (3x 250mfd)..
the ones I can't fix,I rob the LCD menu displays, which rarely fail in D40/D50s, and use them in the I40/I60s notorious for bad menu displays...they are interchangeable with minor mods if any.
Oh, you just asked if I worked on them...

The screen display gets smaller towards the centre of the monitor

Sir the problem of your unit is the vertical section of your tv, first try to tap the side of your tv if the tv reacts there is a cold solder in the vertical section specially in the IC if you remove the cover of your unit, but be sure to unplug it first try to observe the solder part of the pcb look for this cold solder or loosed solder.

look for this sign. To fix this you should resolder it using soldering iron, soldering lead, desoldering pump. And also bulging capacitor is the cause of this fault try to look for this capacitor, this bad capacitor is producing a low and unfiltered dc output that causes your unit to malfunction, replace this bad capacitor with the same type and observe polarity.

This is the bulging capacitor, hope this help good day and best regards.

Sp-R4212 Plasma no picture keeps changing channels when you go to the menu the menu keeps rolling won't stop if I unplug the set for a few days you can go to setup and get it to work I had Sears out to fix...

When the menu starts rolling, take the remote out of the room to see if it's the remote causing the problem.

if it's not, check for bad capacitors on the boards.

There's a good chance you have failing electrolytic capacitors either in the power section or the inverter section or both.
Any caps in these sections that look bulged at the top, or bulged/leaking at the bottom need to be replaced.

If you are handy with a soldering iron and can identify the bulging or leaking capacitors, an inexpensive handful of capacitors will likely fix you right up.
Match the capacitance on the capacitors. Go over voltage if you can, and still have them fit.
IE - it's not a bad idea to replace a 10V cap with a 16V or 25V or even a 50V, but don't replace a 680uF cap with a 500uF or a 1000uF (unless you are positive it's only doing ripple filtering, and even then, you should go OVER, not under the uF rating).

Most of the caps that go are 10V 1000uF or 3300uF.

I found some great videos of the procedure (for many Samsungs with the same issue) on youtube.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8l0AUj8QUkg&NR=1&feature=fvwp

As you can see, this issue spans plasma TVs, as well as large and small LCD TVs and monitors.
The parts are cheap, and skill required is minimal.

its more than likely a bad capacitor or leaky diode thats giving you the problem. However I cant even begin to give you advice without knowing the model number so I can pull up the service info for your set.
