Question about Apple MacBook Mac Notebook

1 Answer

My laptop won't turn on at all.

My laptop was working perfectly fine the other day, i was listening to music and everything was fine, then this little sign came up and it said that my battery is low and that my computer will be turning off in about 10min.. ok so i just didn't do anything and continued listening to music, then my mac died. I was at my friends house at that time so i didn't have my charger with me so i left my computer dead for a day, ive done that before and it never gave me problems. The next day i came home and put my computer to charge, and the little red dot was on, bc i guess it was charging. Anyway then i left my mac charging over night. When i woke up in the morning the dot was green now on my charger plug, so i tried turning it on and nothing happened. on the back of my computer there is a little button that u can press and it tells you if the battery is fully charged and all 4 green dots lit up, however my ma still won't turn on... i tried everything and nothing is happening :(( please help me i have no idea what happened and its really making me worried because nothing like this has ever happened until now ? and i have no idea why... it won't turn on.. iv pressed all the buttons that ur are supposed to i took out the battery and pressed the power button for 5 to 10 seconds... i did everything possible and still NOTHING!!! whyyyy please help someone ... i wanna see if i could do something at home before i take it to the shop. thank u.

If you have a charged battery and it doesn't turn on, there is a hard ware problem. Try to twist the laptop body as you try to turn it on. If it turns on, you have a logic board issue (loose chip on logic board). You can always take it to the apple store and demonstrate the problem there, you'll probably receive a replacement. If you have issues with the warranty, there are third party places that will find our what's wrong. If you want to do it yourself, the good news is, it's not too hard to open it. Here is an Macbook Repair Guide that shows how to open an iPad. If you want somebody else to do it for you go to iPad Repair NYC.

Seeing that that computer is only 4 to 5 days old the best advise i can give you is contact Dell Support or take it back to the store you bought it at and get it replaced.

Just a few days ago my laptop was working perfectly fine then all of the sudden it had a smoky smell and the screen went black. I turned it off and waited a little bit and turned it back on. It starts up...

Where there's smoke, something burns. It sounds like the monitor or video cards has/is going out. First I'd have you contact the tech support for your computer and find out what options they have for you. To replace the monitor is not that hard to do, but you do have to have the correct parts, again from the manufacturer.
I would say you will either need to send it back or just hook up an external monitor and keyboard/mouse.

Sansa m250 not working, need help soon

Plugging it into another computer changed the formatting of the player.. I would format the player from the menu itself, but if that fails:
There are two ways to format an Mp3 player - one on the computer itself, and one in Windows Media Player. Both methods will end up erasing all the songs on the player, but the player will be "good as new" after that. Sometimes reformatting in this manner will override the player's native formatting and cause problems - this can be reversed in most cases by updating the player's firmware. Firmware upgrades are available from most manufacturers' websites.

WARNING: The following procedures will erase all songs on the player.

Check if the file system is NTFS. If yes, format it to FAT or FAT32. - Connect player to computer, double-click my computer, right click on icon of mp3 player and select format. This only applies to Windows-based computers.
You can also format the player in Windows Media Player itself:
Connect your Mp3 player to the computer and open Windows Media Player. Click on the Sync tab. Pull down the drop down menu underneath the Sync tab by moving your cursor over the Sync tab and left clicking on the little black arrow underneath the Sync tab. Highlight "name of Mp3 player here 1GB" (wording may vary slightly), and then select "Format." - this should erase everything.

No Sound Through Speakers

Hi Jake,

If you haven't done so already, I'd try double checking the speaker wiring, you may have some exposed or badly kinked wires behind the unit.

Cheers,
