Hi.

Check if the vent is working.

If the vent is not working, then the vent must be tested by energizing it directly (jumping contacts), then eventually replaced.

If the vent is working, then the only possible explanation for this symptoms is that some part of the air duct broken, moved or out of place. In that case the appliance must be disassembled and checked.

Regards.

Please expand your question.
You CAN'T set it to normal?
Or it spins but does not get hot on the normal setting?

What is the model #?

Thanks!

Hello. Your timer is bad and needs to be replaced. Also, please pull the dryer out from the wall, disconnect the exhaust pipe and inspect inside the back of the machine and inside the exhaust pipe. Remove any lint. IF it is a long reach you could use a vacuum cleaner hose to clean it. Finally go out doors and make sure the vent is clear and that it is working so no critters can crawl in it. It's a whirlpool awz 7466. It runs fine, but I do not know which settings it needs to be on to dry my clothes normally. A small load will take at least 2 hours and makes laundry take forever. Any help

Hi Jennifer,

Two hours to dry a small load of laundry (even a large load for that matter) is way too long. You're wasting electricity too. The first thing you should do is consult the manual for the dryer to be sure you've selected the proper setting. The literature for this can be found here.

Consult this literature page 63 for the location and cleaning instructions for the (e) lint filter after each drying cycle and (h) heat exchanger at least monthly. Failure to clean both will result in long drying times. If you have the "Gentle" cycle selected, drying time will be prolonged, too.

Hopefully, these suggestions will help you solve the problem. Good luck!

  • The dishwashers door vents emit steam which can harm small children as these are often at a toddlers eye level. Many units have an option where you can lock the dishwasher preventing a child from opening it and crawling in. It's best to keep small children away from the dishwasher.

LG Dryer takes too long to dry clothes

Sure the outside vent is not clogged up? If so it will overheat and turn it self off and do a poor job of drying the clothes.

Also check and make sure that all of the heating elements are working properly.

Neptune glass front takes 4 hours to dry clothes.

make sure the vent system is clean. any restrictions can cause the safety switches to activate and turn off heaters. When it cools, the switch resets and starts heating. Unit will continue to cycle the heat off and on. Make sure all elements are working.
Start there.

Washer has timing issue, says it will wash for 45 minutes and wash for 1 hour and 15 minutes. The cycle says 50 minutes but it ends up taking 75 minutes.

This is really not uncommon. The more and more sophistocated the machines become, the more small decisions they make on their own. I have seen a one hour load take up to 2.5 hours.

If a load is off balanced, it will change the time. If the spin cycle doesn't spin enough water out, it will increase the time, and may still be too wet. (In that case you need to clean out the lint/drain trap.)

If you really want more control and quicker washes, there will be a setting like "Quick wash " or "Fast wash." Theis setting is quite basic and does exactly what you tell it to do, and you can always add and extra rinse, or higher speed cycles.

Kenmores and GEs are the highest reported rate of longer times. Relax. The more you add, ie, delicate, two rinses, light spin, medium dry, the longer it will take. It's just trying to do its job! :)

Dryer taking too long to dry clothes

Hello :)

Very common problem. You need to call a
duct cleaning company and tell them to clean
your dryer vent. Rule-of-thumb: dryer vents
should be cleaned every couple of years to
prevent them from being clogged with lint and
causing lint fires. This is definitely your problem.
Good luck :)

p.s. one way to verify a clogged vent is
to go outside where the vent exits the house
and feel the air-flow. should have adequate air-flow.
