Question about Car Audio & Video

1 Answer

I just installed a 6-Disc CD player in my Forester. The old one had a disc stuck in it and burned up the CD motor. This is a Subaru 2003 model 86201SA030. I changed the carriage, reconnected and everything works but the CD player. Help. Woman trying to do it on her own! The CD player just channels to try to find something to read. No error codes. There is a WB in the lower left. Don't know what that is.???

The CD does not eject. It I guess "rolls". Trying to read. What wires can I check? I have the black connector on the side of the carriage. The main white connection is in place with all the wires. The only thing I don't remember seeing when I disconnected was the metal pointed piece that I put under the white one with all the wires.

Disc will not load into subaru forester cd changer

This also happened to my 2002 WRX. I took the CD player out of the console and found a tiny spring (which I could not find) was not in its location, which would actuate the "play CD" switch inside. After a few hours I decided to reassemble the player and use it as a non-CD unit. The radio and cassette player still work, so I purchased a cassette MP3 player adapter so I can plug in my cell phone and play songlists.

Cd won't eject from cd player

try taking your stereo out and disconnecting power. reconnect again and see if it comes out. If not you will have to take stereo out and open it up to manually remove the disc. same thing happened with my mothers car and she ended up getting a new stereo installed. best of luck!

The "CHECK DISCS" message means that some problem has been detected in the disc magazine such as a stuck disc or a disc loaded upside down or a disc that can't be read

I have a 6 cd changeer in my 2003 suburban. all 6

I think your player is having a mechanism problem. To remove the CD's, I think you will have to loose the player with a screw driver and thereafter, check to see if there is any thing that is stuck or hung inside that is depriving it form working properly

I dont know how to work the cd player

There should be a button I believe on the right side that says disk or cd. Just push that to toggle between cd and radio.

Cd error

I hate to be the bearer of bad news... that error code means that you have a CD that's bad in the 6 disc changer.... If you're handy... you can take your radio out and manually remove the cd's and make sure that the 6 trays are aligned properly and not stuck together. (known issue) However, Lexus/Toyota does NOT repair ANY of their electrical components. They want you to pay for a NEW one at the tune of 800.00 PLUS installation... and they send the old one back to Japan and remove the CD's and mail them to you. (at no extra cost... as the service rep was telling me.. as to benefit feature me on the sale of the replacement unit.) Next be ready for the "Disc Read Error, Check Disc" on your navigation... lol.. it's a 2.10 motor that moves the lens that reads the DVD navigation CD.. and once again .. they don't replace or repair... that's a 4500.00 item plus installation.. GOTTA LOVE YOUR EXPENSIVE CAR NO? ;)
