CubCadet 1554 - won't start!

CubCadet 1554 - when trying to start the mower, I hear the PTO click but the engine won't turn. Mower won't start. New solenoid & battery have been installed. Does this sound like a PTO problem or a starter problem?

If you hear the PTO click when you turn the ignition on, sounds like the PTO button is pulled out like you were engaging the blades. The engine will not start if the PTO button is pulled out....

I have a ferris zero turn mower and it starts and runs fine but the mower blades won't engage, when I lift the knob nothing happens, belt is on - I think something might be unhooked???

first turn the key switch to the on position but dont crank it leave it on then pull out on the pto switch you should be hearing a clicking sound if not keep pulling in and out if you still dont hear it, take the switch it self out of the dash and wiggle the wireing harness pluged in to the switch while pulling in and out on it, if that still dosnt work go buy a new one and hope to god thats your problem because if your pto clutch is bad then thats about 300 to 400 dollars right there so go the cheapest route and change your switch but do the tricks i told you and hope for the best, i hope this helps thaks, jamie

I have a Cub Cadet 1250. The PTO suddenly stopped

Look at www.cubcadet.com. There under parts you should find an IPL for your mower. You will need the model and serial number from under the seat to get the information. Look under the electrical for PTO.

PTO will not engage blades on riding mower. The

Using a test light or volt meter, check to see if you are getting a full 12 volts at the connector where the PTO plugs in. If no voltage present, locate the fuse for the PTO and check it, also check the PTO switch to see if it is working. You can turn on the ignition switch to the run position, don't start the engine, and turn the PTO switch on and off several times listening for a clicking sound. If you hear it clicking, have someone sit in the seat and start up the engine, while it is running, observe the PTO clutch and see if it spins when turned on and if the belt turns with it. If none of this works, post a follow up and include your Craftsman Model number. I will look it up and see if I can find anything else we might be missing

Turn key and hear click and hear click from back of mower

If the problem was a safety switch, you would not hear a click.
If both batteries were good, you probably have a bad starter.
