Question about Pioneer PL-990 Turntable
I just bought a used turntable. The plataform where you put the records does not turn. Upon further investigation (after taking the black rubber, and metal circular base, I found a black "belt" seems like a rubber band. I realize that I have to put this together to turn the turntable. Are there any diagrams on how to loop this rubber around the gears?
Remove any tape from the belt
That is the drive belt for the turntable .
It's not that hard to set up. Take the mat off the platter and wrap the belt around the underneath -slightly-less-diameter portion.
With a pointed end needle or something like it , put the tip between the belt and the platter portion it's wrapped against.
Pull the belt away from that( keeping the rest of the belt on the platter portion) and set it over the motor pulley. This is usually a small diameter brass spindle unit
