Question about Zebra LP 2824 Printer
There's a small optic sensor on the right edge that detects if the printhead mechanism (lid) is locked down. If the lid doesn't fit tight, then the printer thinks the lid is still open. By pushing on the lid, you block the sensor and labels print.
I have blocked that sensor by putting a small piece of label or masking tape over the sensor to block it. Now the printer will print even if the lid is not down tight.
More of a band-aid than a permanent solution to finding out why the lid won't lock down properly but it may help.
