Recently had starter rebuilt. trying to get tractor to start. only used a few times when trying to start engine. Didn't overheat starter. Today, it turned over engine well in 2 attempts. On the 3rd attempt, starter didn't even try to turn sound, etc. Battery tests strong and normal. I took starter out and can rotate shaft with strong effort. Why doesn't the starter work?

The solonoid could be bad causing the problem. also be sure the starter wires aren't loose as this can overheat the starter.

You said that you had the starter rebuilt, is there a chance that somethng was misaligned when it was reassembled? Also were the brushes replaced?

Engine won't turn. Have checked battery, starter, solenoid

The float needle in the carburetor is not closing which will allow gas to keep filling up into the cylinder and compression is blowing it up to the air filter.
There could be dirt or a build up ring around the needle of a jelly like material from sitting through the winter or just a build up over a long time
Cleaning the float needle may work but a new one is better

Craftsman dt4000 starter problem

if it's an overhead valve engine( OVH) the valvevs have to be adjusted
periodicly.the smoke may not be actually coming from the starter.
The same thing happened to me. And, It's muck better to take it to a

make sure the starter is tight and your battery cables are clean and tight if automatic try putting it in neutral if it starts you may have a bad neutral safety switch if it is a stick try push starting if it starts you may have a bad clutch switch also check for a starter relay if u have one try swaping with horn relay and see if it starts

Hi, the meter flashes oil change when they are due(at pre-programed intervals) and will stop flashing two running hours after flashing starts. The hours that are showing are total running hours from new. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

I have a YTH2448 Tractor that overheats

Although blockages in the shroud and cooling fins are the most common cause of overheating, a small gas engine can also overheat if the fuel-air mix is too lean. Are you sure the carb overhaul kit had the right parts, and is there any possible of adjusting the mixture? Here is a set of parts diagrams for your tractor - Engine-2 has the carburetor-related parts. Good luck!

My 1995 lexus has recently not started after

do you hear the starter click or try to turn the engine. Most likely it is your starter. The contactors wear over the time/the number of starts over the years. You can get a rebuilt starter or buy a new one. If you are up to the challenge you can but repair kits to rebuilt it. It a 300-400 dollar job at the dealer.

Starting problems

if this problem persists then you could check a few things on it, like on the times when its not even making a noise when trying to turn the key, use rubber/wooden object and tap the starter motor but not touching the contacts on the back. if this amkes it spring into life then it will be your starter motor if this does nothing then it will be a dodgy battery supply. does it also make like a screaching noise while trying to start? if so then definitely your starter motor
